Product Description

As a color safe bleach, sodium percarbonate is an ingredient in many home and laundry products, such as OxyClean, Tide laundry detergent, Vanish, ect. When dissolved in water, it becomes a mixture of hydrogen peroxide (that will eventually decompose to water and oxygen) and sodium carbonate (a detergent booster).

Kills string algae fast!

I bought this to kill string algae in my pond. I applied the powder liberally to the exposed algae, 1/2 pond at a time, (to give the fish some oxygenated water to breathe) and within 1/2 hr it was all brown. I removed it with gloves and no more algae! I also treated the pond water with additional powder, also 1/2 pond at a time, and the stuff under the water died too. This is a great product for string algae removal!

So far I have been using the powdered form in my laundry mixed with Washing Soda and Borax as a booster...works great. Have used it in liquid form as a disinfectant and cleaner for the kitchen and bathroom...other than the wait for it to dissolve have had good results with this form of use as well.

Definitely a keeper for my DIY cleaning and laundry!

too soon to say if it will clean up my pond -- i've been putting only tiny amounts in the water so as not to disturb the plant life and frogs. But it does seem to be a great washing powder supplement. The total 18.5 lbs came packaged VERY well, a 1 lb, a 2.5 lb. and 3x5 lb sizes in sturdy silver plastic bags with the same roll-down flexible fastener strips you get on bags of coffee beans.
