The Reps are vicous lizard like creatures who want to take over earth and destroy anthing and anyone who stands in their way. Unfortunately the one way the fae warriors could immediately tell that a Rep was around inspite of their being able to make themselves look human was their smell which due to a new medication alters their odor and makes them difficult to detect.
Solace and her sisters run an environmental research agency called Green Goddess. It was because of her agency that she was able to get an interview with NOAA one of the Rep's targets. When she meets the man she is to interview Tanner Jackson she feels an immediate attraction to him something she hasn't felt since the death of her fae lover Duncan.
Tanner is an army ranger and the last black-op mission left him badly hurt and five of his men dead. His new assignment is working at NOAA something he hopes is not going to be permanent. One of the men from NOAA was recently killed in a sky diving accident, an accident caused by the Reps who now have the opportunity of getting one of their own inside NOAA.
Solace is suspicous of the new man when she meets him but according to Mother he is working as a double agent and has to be left alone. Solace and Tanner become close and she wants to reveal to him who and what she is. She is given permission to tell him and needless to say he needs more than words so Solace gives him a demonstration of her wings and flying.
In addition to working together to fight the Reps Tanner and Solace begin to have a relationship outside of work but as much as Solace wants him she knows it will not happen. She lives a very, very long life and Tanner doesn't she can't face losing another man she loves except giving him up would be just as painful.
There was a lot of suspense, violence and surprises. This is a war between good and evil and there are two more books to come. I can't wait for Portence and Bliss' stories.

Science fiction lovers, I’d like to proudly introduce you to your next favorite book.
In Solace, you’ll watch the Fae Warriors battle Reptilian/Men. A battle which began in chapter one and didn’t let up. In fact, the action will continue in Bliss (Fae Warriors Book 2). FYI: A sneak peek is found following Solace’s glossary.
The initial fight scene was pretty extraordinary. Her opponent was no one I’d like to run across in a darkened alley or one heavily lit up either. Reptilians are bad mojo. Let me describe them to you.
Imagine this showdown: Watching a “man” slowly morph into a Reptile… thick green skin, elongated nails, and sporting a lizard head. A creature with lethal pointy teeth, outweighing you by 200 pounds and harboring a very deadly weapon —- a tail. A tail that grew right before Solace’s eyes. Oh, lets not forget he wore scaly body armor. Freaky!!!
If I faced one of those abominations, I would definitely develop a full blown case of herpetophobia — fear of reptiles.
If you think you wouldn’t, you would after taking a gander at its genitalia. Huge and thorny. I mean, I’m ok with a little pain with my pleasure but I’m not in the market to get ripped wide open. No way, Jose. This chick would become celibate.
Luckily for Solace, she didn’t have to remain celibate. She found herself an Army Ranger who literally plucked her out of the sky.
With moves like that, I can see why she fell for the human. 😉
I’m not sure how long they will stay together since she’s not a human but, for now, their relationship is full speed ahead.
