This case is very quiet. Some reviewers have stated it is loud, but for me, coming from a case with small 80mm fans, this case is much, much quieter. I honestly was stunned at how quiet it was. Be aware that there are many thumb screws provided with this case and they have two different threads on them (for the case, and for the HDD, etc.). There are also plenty of motherboard screws provided as well (including the silver tube "hex" screws that go underneith the motherboard). There is room for an additional fan you can add to the case, it can be added at the bottom (inside the case) next to the power supply and there are holes to fit either a 120mm fan or 140mm fan in that extra space. Also note that the back fan is not an LED fan. The large 230mm fan on the window side can accomodate processor heat sinks of up to aproximately 150mm in heighth before the fan gets in the way so be aware of this if you have a very tall processor heat sink or you will not be able to get the side door on with the fan attached. There is room behind the motherboard to hide your cables but be aware that if you have many cables or thick cables you will have a difficult time getting the back door panel on, but this is minor as once you do get the door on you are all set.
AZZA seems to have read some of it's own reviews and has re-done this case since it first came out, here are the improvements I noticed:
HDD cages can be slid out from the front now. There is now a large processor window right behind the motherboard (but no place for a fan on the back door panel). The bottom of the case now has two mesh filters, one for the power supply if you have the power supply fan facing down, and one for the space right next to the power supply if you add an additional fan there for air intake.
My own personal oppinion of this case is that it is absolutely beautiful to look at. The LED fans are awesome in a dark room.
Front mounted connectors are convienent
Great overall design and appearence
No CPU Fan compatability listed in specs
Damaged from USP port
No filters pre-installed (or offered) for the intake fans
Overall I would definately recommend this case, but warn prospective buyers to be careful with CPU fan size.
This will be the fourth computer I have put together, so I'm reasonably familiar with that process, as well.
I received my case in time, and it survived the shipping with no damage. I opened the box the day I received it and looked it over. No dents, cracked/broken plastic, loose parts, or whatever. The case's appearance is good, with the red nicely complementing the black. The plastic parts all seem to be reasonably durable and unlikely to break under normal, careful use (see below for potential difficulties, though.) All the metal structure seems to be decent quality as well (again, see below.)
The paint finish quality is quite good. There are no sags or runs as I have seen on some other cases. All the screws are painted black to match the case, as well.
Provisions for cable arrangement look to be pretty good, with plenty of room to route all the different wires and cables necessary to make one of these things work. As usual, I think I'll have to get (or fabricate) a couple of extensions for some of the cables, but that's not unusual for a full-tower case.
Airflow through this case looks to be exceptional. Two big 230mm fans, one on the side and one in the top, two 140mm fans in front, and a 120mm fan in back all combine to move a lot of air. I did a temporary lash-up to power the fans, and they're surprisingly quiet. The LEDs all lit up nicely, and with everything else installed, this is going to be an impressive looking computer!Read more ›
