After running out of GPS battery on a long hike, I decided to look into a solar pack to recharge my electronic devices. This works, but only at a limited level. It seems a bit pricy for the amount of energy storage. It works to put a limited charge into the GPS and I can attach a USB recharger and then partly recharge my iPhone too.

It has a little 1.5 x 3" battery that stores the energy collected by the small solar panel. That battery fits in a small pocket inside the compartment under the solar panel. There aren't any openings for cords so you can leave devices attached while you hike without leaving the zipper partly open, but the pack has plenty of storage inside - it could use a couple larger outside pockets for water/device storage.

The bag came excellently packaged and worked perfectly right out of the box. It has saved me many times out in the field when my smartphone was nearly dead, and has storage in all the right places. The customer service is amazing, and very helpful. I won't leave the house without this bag!

For anyone curious - yes, it comes with a tip for iPhones and a MicroUSB tip for most Android phones.

Do not buy this back pack.....
I purchased this backpack to charge various products during a music festival.
After 1 day of use the solar panel stopped charging (the battery pack still worked).
In addition to a complete failure of the main functionality of this product the zipper stitching ripped (also after 1 day of use).
I tried to reconcile these issues with the company over 4 emails and all they offered was to reimburse me for the ripped stitching after I send them a receipt and troubleshooting steps to try to fix the solar panel charging ability(did not work). After asking for a refund or exchange within the time allotted by their return policy you would think they would simply take in the product, assess the damage after 1 day of use, and replace it, but instead they try to hold you off with emails until after their return policy date has expired.

YOU WILL REGRET THE DECISION OF BUYING THIS PRODUCT
