I like these prenatal vitamins. I've been using them for over a year and a half. Yes, they have a little funky taste--like fish to me, but it's gone as soon as you swallow the vitamin--no after taste, at least for me. Wish it had a good dose of magnesium in it (it only has 5mg-1% RDA), so I just supplement it. They are about $11 cheaper here on Amazon compared to my local health food store. (I only looked online for them, because my local health food store stopped selling them).
*Note* Taking a prenatal in the morning for me, really upset my tummy...I take them in the evening and now they don't bother me...stomach filled up with food by the end of the day I guess. Thought I'd mention that in case someone else has this problem too. ;)
I don't think these are the real deal. I've used them with my pervious pregnancy and with my current one. I've always bought from the store. These from online come in a clear bottle instead of white, the capsules are bigger and are covered in dust like they were sloppily filled, and they smell waaaay worse than the ones i bought in the store. I'm scared to use them cause I'm not positive what's really in them. Maybe they are perfectly fine but I ended up just throwing them on a shelf and going back to the store for more.
Overall I've heard great things about this vitamin. So far it's meeting my expectations. With that said I do however have a rather large complaint. The actual smell of the vitamin is absolutely horrid. It smells so bad that I've considered buying something else but because I bought two bottles of it for my entire pregnancy I will suffer through. It has a morning ease supplement in it but the smell of the vitamin creates more nausea for me. If the smell weren't so bad Iif recommend it to more people.
I like that they are food based vitamins, but the smell and taste is almost unbearable. I'll finish the bottle, but I'll be buying a different brand next time. There's no way I could have taken these during my first trimester when I was super nauseous all the time.
I've taken an array of different prenatals while pregnant, breastfeeding, etc. I love that the Solaray is only ONE pill daily and yet does not upset my stomach at all. I always choose vitamins made from whole food sources like these. I love that it contains a morning-ease blend. I just feel good taking this vitamin. It is totally comparable to the Garden of Life Raw Prenatal (which I also love) and at a fraction of the cost. Will continue taking this vitamin over others.
