Soldier is a fantastic book. But it has some items that are unusual for a VN War book. First, the author's story is from am officer's perspective. He is a Lt. Col. in VN in IG and command assignments. Second, you get to hear his incredible experiences as a child in WV and as an enlisted soldier in the Korean conflict. Third, he fought two enemies in VN: the VC and his higher command.
I'd recommend this for anyone in the service, and to any young adult. There are many lessons-learned in this book that both military and civilian would benefit from.
