The murder mystery was enhanced with Captain Savva, the detective - he isn't a 'hero' figure but has his own problems. Lots to get your teeth into in A Solitary Reaper - an author who I will be reading again. It is obvious that there will be lots more to come for Captain Savva.
Rachael Wright promises “an exploration of the love that binds us and the secrets that tear us apart” – and she delivers in spades. Part detective story and part political thriller, it’s a very different story that hold the reader’s attention to the final page.
A murder mystery set on a Greek island where the sun shines and the blue sea sparkles. The atmosphere is almost a character in itself, as the police team attempt to solve the murder of a local with Mafia connections. The police chief is a problem, the locals suspicious and the sub plot, which is not resolved in this book make this a read with plenty of twists and turns. Five stars from me.
