Beware which ‘Solula’ scoop u receive-quality vs crap

I recently received 2 different sizes of Solula scoops. I found their measurmen t chart to be super helpful in choosing the appropriate sizes for falafels & meatballs (which I prefer to be of the smaller variety). I got one 50 at full price & one 40 that was a amazon warehouse special - opened package - like new. What I got was surprising & a little frustrating when trusting amazon in making these choices. The pictures should speak for themselves. They are NOT the same product in different sizes. At first squeeze the one scoop moved smoothly. The other one you could feel & hear some resistance in the gears as you squeezed it. As I looked to examine the reason the differences in them quickly multiplied. There is a brand on the inside handle of the quality 50 size scoop. While there is none on the 40. The 50 is heavy, thicker quality metal. While the 40 is thin & light. The coil for the 50 is also (obviously) thicker. The weight difference (of 2 reasonably light objects) is surprising. Be warned - I don’t know HOW to tell which you are buying but greatly disappointed in Amazon /Amazon’s Warehouse to have sold this POS!

Delivered today, had the cookie dough waiting in the refrigerator. It didn't even make it past the first dozen cookies. The gears are all jammed up and the sweeping sticks straight up.

I was very happy with the quality and heftiness of the scoop.
Squeezing the handles to release ice cream and cookie dough was smooth and effortless for me and I have arthritis in my hands.
The gears glide smoothly and the spring is still in perfect condition and the blade still flush with the bottom of the scoop.
It's made of stainless steel so it's dishwasher safe. I had mine soaking in the sink after making chocolate cookies. After washing,
rinsing, and towel drying it still looks shiny and new. I do take good care of it and put it back in its packaging before placing it in
the utensil drawer for protection.
I plan on purchasing a couple more in smaller sizes for balling fruit and making meatballs.
I'm happy with my purchase.

This scoop arrived looking like something one would buy at a dollar store. The packaging is super cheap and the scoop itself doesn't look like it will hold up for more than a few uses at best. I'm returning it without using it.By Katie Becher on July 1, 2018
