Interesting reading, it is filled with very scholarly research but at times it seems quite a stretch to make some of the items match up. Still it provides a thorough and rich understanding of the Mayan philosophy and how the calendar system contained their complete understanding of life, the cosmos, time, nature and God. A recommended read.
I know some readers are also looking for definitive "prophetic" revelations, but I think that is perhaps a misguided endeavor (as we can so readily see by all the doomsdayers running amuck). I really resonate with the idea that the cycles Calleman explains are not "circular", but rather like a "spiral" coming to an ultimate elevating conclusion.
Creation is accelerating and we are the Creators.

This book is well written and explains the concepts behind the Mayan calendar. I purchased it after watching a Longold video on
utube. Well worth the read.

I just finished reading this book and was mesmerized by it. One of the reviewers said there were no reliable predictions made based on Calleman's own analysis. Not so. Read morePublished on January 22, 2009 by Charles Balogh
As my first book about the Mayan calendar, I was expecting to gain an understanding of it; and why the Maya believed that the world would end in 2012. Read morePublished on March 2, 2008 by C. Pearce
I think this is an excellent book, althought I believe the date is 2012, rather than 2011. Not too new age, seems he has kept contact with the ground.Published on November 30, 2007 by Geir Roar Agnalt
This book was horrible and the author is a Kook. Very little actual fact about the Mayan calendar and lots of religious rhetoric. Read morePublished on November 4, 2007 by Sam Humphrey
