Just started working on some Networking Courseware for some of my clients, as I'd say very close to 100% of all my daily cashflow has been generated by Networking.
Thom's book is still... by far... The Networking Gold Standard.
Most marketers eventually realize the bulk of their income comes from "doing business with people they know + like".
If you ever get to this point, best pick up a copy of Thom's book + read it till it's tattered.
2013-04-25 - Writing Beautiful Business I was scanning my library for books about Networking to recommend to my readers + Thom's book jumped out at me.
Thom Singer is a great guy. Wicked smart and one of the nicest guys you'll meet.
My shelves have many Networking books and Thom's is the only one that held my attention so I read it cover to cover.
I was just scanning the Table of Contents looking for a Chapter to review in detail.
In fact, a great experiment is to just read his Chapter Heads + Subheads and consider each for a day...
"The Act of Networking Is Not an Act" - Well said Thom. You best be authentic or your Networking will fail to produce any useful results.
"Never Confuse Visibility with Credibility" - In other words, only take advice from someone who has accomplished what you desire + is able + willing to show you how they did... what they did... Avoid people who say they're an expert. Look to their entire life's work to determine their core competencies.
"Perfecting Your Craft: Never Stop Learning" - More truth. Look for various forms of Eclectic Input, every day.
Read + Savor + Digest Thom's book + enjoy your Networking!
