Axel is a very complex and sexy af alpha male. I mean seriously if the cover of this book is anything to go by he is HOT AF. He has alot to deal with in this book. He needs to step up after almost a year in rehab in get his life in order. He learns he has a son named Strong by his ex-girlfriend from College. A trip to New York for a book signing to confront her, he goes with his sponsor Lake. Oh and I need to mention Lake is one sexy male candy package. The attraction between Lake and Axel is off the hook. And it brings Axel to admitting he likes males and females. So now we have Axel coming out as bisexual and part of the reason why he's an addict because he couldn't admit it to himself. He steps up and is trying to get his life in order and has to start dealing with his life and step up and be an adult.....that's taking care of his daughter, a son and confronting his family. He has to get a new sponsor because of his ties with Lake. And his new sponsor Ruby is a force to be reckoned with, which I absolutely loved her. She turns out being a big part of the story and is just funny as hell.
Lake is a recovering addict, a pastor, and I did mention he's one sexy male candy package. He helps Axel deal with his everyday life, taking care of the kids, cooking, and just being there for Axel. He makes Axel to start believing in the HEA he has been searching for, and achieving it. And with the help of his meetings, a kick butt sponsor in Ruby he's doing it one day at a time. Some set backs along the way but eventually we see a beautiful light. Which btw is so deserving for this set of characters. What everyone needs to understand with an addict, you will be an addict until the day you die and it's an everyday struggle to NOT use again. Each day is a miracle, a blessing to get through it without picking up that pipe, needle, snorting a line, drinking and really just to get out of bed and face each day with a smile and participate in the livng life to the fullest.
Ok enough of that, this book was brilliantly written! The storyline flowed. This book had some serious parts, laugh out loud moments, sexy af sex scenes and two of the hottest male characters to date of reading. Seriously sad to see it end. And I hope where M.A. Stone says it's not the last we see of Axel is true because I really need more Axel in my life lol! I loved the way M.A. Stone had all of her characters from each of her books showing up and the way they all intertwine it was like visitng old friends in each book and along the way meeting new ones. So on that note really give this amazing book and series a try I don't think as an avid reader as myself you will be NOT BE DISAPPOINTED!
One step, two step, tickle under there!........
