A movie where the underlying theme is two engaged people cheating on each other and ending up with the person they cheated with. A movie where cheating is excused because of previous feelings and an intense "connection". There is even a seemingly "good guy"/best friend (the only one in the movie) who proclaims his love and then that plot line just disappears. I came out of this movie feeling like it's missing a huge chunk of it where people make the right decisions.
I watched this DVD to death. Like literally it wouldn't play anymore. I know it isn't exactly a positive message but this is somehow my favorite movie. I hear it start and immediately feel soothed. There is still one part that I'll even wait for it and see if it's as funny and I crack up every time. Well acted and timed. I need to watch this right now!

THERE WILL BE SPOILERS. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED! Alright Rachel, let's have a chat, shall we? WHY WOULD YOU DO THAT TO ETHAN?! He was perfect! The nicest guy who was always there to show you when you were right and when you were doing something stupid! So why on earth would you go for the guy who was originally going to marry your so called 'best friend'? I don't know if you know this but she was kind of a female dog. Witch with a capital B. Lady of the night. Not a nice friend. Very self centered and if you are into that as a best friend then fine! But honestly, she took the guy you were CLEARLY into! I bet my bottom dollar that she knew too! She even tells him to ask you out! Which he didn't cause he is dumb! And she took him from you! And he let her! I say dump both of their sorry booties and drive off with Mr. Good-Lookin' into the sunset. (I mean Ethan if you cannot tell) Alright, I'll break it down for you: Ethan: Was always there for you! ALWAYS!! HE EVEN CONFESSED THAT HE WAS IN LOVE WITH YOU! GIRL YOU HAD IT MADE!!! Other Dude: (Dex. If you want to call him by his name) Was as blind as a bat, refused to let you know how he felt AND after you slept with him he still went all over YOUR BEST FRIEND! That is not cool. So don't cheat with the cheater! He turned YOU into a cheater. Do you want that on your permanent record? NO! Just cause his eyes are beautifully brown and he has a charming personality--STOP RIGHT THERE! It's a trap! Eventually his eyes will droop and he will get crabby and mean once he becomes old! So stick with Ethan! He will look beautiful once he gets old and won't get crabby! I just know, okay? Alright I'm done. ...Basically I found the movie stupid.
I saw the preview for this movie and it looked fantastic. For the most part it was a good film, but there were things that just didn't play out as well as I had hoped, and the ending was good, but also.... weird. Maybe it's just my personal opinion. Doesn't seem like there were any repercussions for peoples actions, and the preview gave the wrong idea. Just kind of alright for me. Not bad, but not great.
I am not sure what it is about this movie, but I can't get enough. I don't even remember how I first saw it, but I was instantly hooked. The characters are great and the acting is wonderful. I find myself rooting for Rachel every single time. And Dex is just so adorable!! I love Kate Hudson and she plays the part of ambivalent fiancé well enough that you find yourself cheering against her in favor of her betsie. I hesitate to say this, but the movie was even better than the book. I read the book after seeing the film and wasn't impressed. The screenwriters definitely improved upon the original material. It is a fun romcom without too much drama.
This movie is full of funny moments, but also heartfelt and occasional heart-wrenching moments that have you rooting for Rachel (Ginnifer Goodwin) and sometimes hating Darcy (Kate Winslet.. who I am a huge fan of), but their friendship is one most people can relate to, with one friend overshadowing the other without really realizing it. John Krasinski is also probably my favorite part of this movie! He is hilarious, sarcastic.... very similar to his character in The Office.
This is another top favorite movie of mine that I have watched over and over, and never get sick of. I highly recommend it as well!! :) I love the music as well, and it has a great ending. I think it deserved more attention than it got in the end!!

I was really looking forward to seeing this but what could have been a interesting, funny story was let down by tired old jokes about lets get drunk and act really horrible to each other. I love Ginnifer Goodwin in Once Upon a Time and in this film she is absolutely great and almost saves the film. Unfortunately the film focus a little too much on Kate Hudson who is an absolute nightmare. I am glad she is not my friend. I don't know why Rachael continues to want to please her. The male lead Colin Egglesfield is irritating and really needs to grow a backbone, he also looks too much like Tom Cruise for my liking. I loved Rachael and Ethan way more than the other two and found their scenes and story way more interesting than anything else in the film.

I love the chemistry between the two leads here I had no trouble believing they'd been in love with each other for years but too afraid to tell each other. I found it hard to feel sorry for Kate Hudson in the end when she realised they'd been seeing each other she treated her so called best friend like she was nothing, so I was glad Dex and Rachel ended up together.
5.0 out of 5 starsExcellent Movie - totally unpredictable

I love this film. It is about real life and the best thing is, it's a rom-com where we actually don't know what will happen in the end. It is frankly astonishing that this subject has rarely been explored - and kudos to Ginnifer Goodwin and Kate Hudson in making such flawed characters relatable. Moral compass aside - it's an interesting situation - and while we may say today how we hope we would react under the same circumstances... can we ever REALLY know? I have now seen it for the fourth time. Even the most frustrating moment - I had to later admit to myself was probably how things would turn out in real life. Amazing soundtrack too - Natasha Bedingfield, The Civil Wars, Salt n Pepa, Paulo Nutini - watch this film but please leave judgment at the door. It's well acted and probably closer to real life and 90% of the cookie-cutter, fairytale movies out there.

I really like this movie! It's funny and slightly frustrating! It has you yelling at the main character to go after what she wants and you sometimes want to strangle her best friend for being so selfish and conceited!
Brilliant DVD. I loved the book and decided to watch the film. It was a romantic film which included thoughts about friendship and true love. It is awkward and hilarious at times, but great overall. A good watch, and a great girl film.
Bought this film after seeing Ginnifer Goodwin in He's Just Not That Into You, and because I am a fan of Kate Hudson. This film was worth a watch and a nice story, although I probably wouldn't be in a hurry to watch again.
