I also liked that there weren't any long, drawn out, fabricated dramatic events for effect. Hate that in a story! Issues came up & were dealt with .. either with yelling or just talking. No hidden crap that just comes out in the end anyway, to make the couples break up for a while. Hate that too!!!
Loved that his mother called him a "jackass"!!!! Twice!! Damn! I couldn't stop laughing. That was unexpected.
This was a good read. I had the same issue with chapter 9 repeating (a few reviewers mentioned this) but as soon as I updated it thru Amazon, all was well. No reflection on Lena Hart. She's an awesome writer.
Tired of all billionaire stories. These two people over came
A variety of emotions to find their HEA. Only wished the epilogue
Include if they had kids. Thank you Ms Hart
On Mya's return to Cedar Bend, where her father had raised her, she is pulled over for speeding and it turns out the tags on her car are not only expired, but the registration is not valid. She begs the officer to let her off with a warning and then proceeds to tell the officer that deputy Lawson would not be very pleased if they took her in to be booked. By now Deputy Lawson is now Sheriff Lawson, and he tells the officer to bring her in but not book her. When asked who she is, Sheriff Lawson informs the officer that Mya is his wife.
It turns out that Mya does not have a place to stay, so Guy's mother (who has no knowledge of the marriage) convinces him to let Mya stay with her. While Mya and Guy are trying to sort out their feelings for each other. Guy ends up in the hospital and Mya reveals the secret marriage.
It's kind of a feel good story, and I read it from start to finish without setting the book down once. This is the first story in the Brides of Cedar Bend. I look forward to reading the rest of the series. I received an Advance Reader's Copy for my honest opinion.
Now on to my review ... I loved this book!
Mya becomes a runaway bride after her wedding night is consummated. She's still reeling from the untimely death of her beloved father. So many emotions are at the forefront she doesn't know whether she's coming or going. What she does know is that she needs time to herself to process her life so she exits the life that she's always known for a chance to discover it's the life she's always wanted. I loved the fresh perspective of the man being the one that's unforgiving and boy he doesn't make it easy for her. She has to earn his love and respect again. Take the journey with Mya and Guy as they rekindle a love that was always meant to be. I'm really looking forward to reading all the other upcoming books in this series.
