It is a fun, sexy, steamy and albeit a little difficult story to get through for me. Don't get me wrong this story is full of heart and wonderful characters and the plot is very good. But Damien's (our hero) father is suffering with dementia and early onset of Alzheimer's disease (my father passed away from this 3 years ago) so those parts could be upsetting but they are handled with grace and thoughtfulness.
All in all, this story is wonderfully told and now I have to read the whole series to find out about the rest of the funny, engaging and charming characters that are portrayed in this well written book. I received this Advanced Reader Copy of this book and I am voluntarily giving it my open and honest review.
I purchased Brides of Cedar Bend book 2 Something New by Lena Hart and this review was given freely.
Two years after a chance encounter during a storm, Savvy and Damian meet again on the day of Guy and Mya's second wedding. This is a story of attraction at first sight, coping with dementia, and preparing for Quinn and Eric's wedding. Serious topic are balanced with humor, irony, drama filled twists, significant moments with the men and women of Cedar Bend, and some steamy scenes between Savvy and Damian.
Funny and sad but ultimately heartwarming,
I love this book but the part of the story leading up to the end felt too rushed. Also, the issue with Quinn was left up in the air. We didn't even get a slight hint at what happened to keep us interested.
