Tech has really outdone himself here. I reviewed All 6's and 7's and, while I didn't think Tech could top that, he certainly has here. There is definitely a distinction between a great album and a collection of great songs. Looking back, I would consider All 6's and 7's to be a collection of great songs, but there wasn't any cohesion that held the songs together as an album. That is definitely not the case with Something Else.

The album kicks off with the best album opener that Tech has released thus far with "Straight Out The Gate" (5/5). I didn't think he'd be able to top the album opener from Killer ("Like Yeah"), but he did. System of a Down front man, Serj Tankian, lends his vocals to the chorus and the result is one of the standout tracks on the album. Then we move into B.I.T.C.H. (5/5) with a chorus assisted by T-Pain. I wasn't a huge fan of the track when it was released a few months back, mainly because I'm tired of T-Pain. This track, however, grew on me very quickly to the point where it's now one of my favorites off of this album. The next track is one of the two posse cuts from the album, "With The BS" (3.5/5). This track is a good one to crank up and bob your head to, but I'm afraid after several listens it will start to get monotonous. Then the album moves into some more serious material with "Love 2 Dislike Me" (5/5). This track was originally suppose to feature Corey Taylor, lead vocalist for Slipknot. Due to timing issues he was replaced by Evalyn Awake vocalist, Tyler Lyon. I think that Tyler Lyon does a fantastic job on this track. What makes this track really work is the switch in tempo from heavy guitar and bass to a softer beat where Liz Suwandi offers up some delicate vocals.

Great Great Album for Tech N9ne fans, ease of download always has me coming back to find my favorites. One suggestion, we should have the ability to share music between our individual apple and android devices. That would be great.

What can I honestly say about Tech N9ne? He is literally THE man! A true artist in every sense of the word. I can say that conceptually he is the best at it. When he makes an album he goes all out. There is at least one song that he may make that anybody could listen to. Some people may think I enjoy him too much, but I honestly recognize REAL talent. He is 40 plus years old and still making it happen. The different flows that he busts out, on every song you will find something new. Tech N9ne is a complete open book. He will tell you his rags to riches story if you listen to his music. It's incredible to see someone coming up out of poverty and making something of himself. I see what he wants me to see on every song. The way he blends different genres of music, the way he spits at lightning fast speeds but is still completely understandable. CHOPPER! He is truly an inspiration. This album is the complete deal. The way it flows, the messages he tells you, the legendary collaborations, and the way he delivers on his promise of making the mainstream go Tech. I'm sorry but I can't say enough about the man who has had such an impact on my life, and has a song for every mood I'm in. Watch out for this MONSTER! Thank you for your continued dedication to making beautiful music. The vinyl record brings out a quality of the music that you won't find on a standard MP3. The artwork is great, and it brings a sense of class to an otherwise dull living room. Thank you Tech

Love this album. There are a lot of gems here. The piece at the end of My Kid was awesome and Believe needs more attention 'cause it's a sick track. Dwamn is a lot of fun with classic Tech themes. Even though I don't smoke, I like Colorado. Yo Tech, don't forget Washington legalized it too. haha

Don't download something else on the lists, download Something Else.

Tech N9ne's Something Else is a fantastic, creative album. The album is worth listening to from start to finish to really absorb the concept and execution. Tech N9ne delivers every song with his wicked, untouchable flow. The production delivers a unique sound where every song is sonically consistent yet distinguishable; the productions is really fantastic and compliments the vocals of all participating artists. On that point, the features are able to keep up with Tech N9ne -- Serj Tankian is killer, Krizz Kaliko is stunning with his powerful vocals and flow, Snow Tha Product is impressive, Cee-Lo Green is fantastic, and so on -- an impressive lineup for collaborations. But, Tech N9ne also shows he can hold songs down on his own with "Fortune Force Field" and " Believe".

I enjoyed the entire album during my first listen. My favorite songs are: "Straight Out The Gate", "Love 2 Dislike Me", "Fortune Force Field", "Fragile", "Priorities", "So Dope", "That's My Kid", "Meant to Happen", "Believe", "Drowning", "Thizzles" and "Feels Like Heaven". The rest of the album is great, too, but these are the tracks that'll be on my mind for a very long time.

With a hints of introspection, storytelling, spazzing and partying, Something Else is something for everyone. It's the work of a brilliant artist with a lot to give to his dedicated fan base. For fans of Tech N9ne, fans of his constant growth, and newcomers, this is a fantastic rap album. Oh, and I strongly recommend the All Access Edition, the bonus tracks are standouts.
