The writing was good, very good. The characters were even better. The storyline itself was debatable; I just couldn't understand the concept. To not give away an spoilers I won't go into to details but Rory's anxiety and panic issues didn't add up to me. I loved Sam's POV. It was well written for a male.
I found myself skipping paragraphs and pages and then chapters because the author put so much into their internal thoughts that it dragged the story somewhat.
I loved the way Rory and Sam's love story was written. From friendship to love, it was beautiful.
Overall I enjoyed the box set, and I can't wait to read Carl's and Tuckers story next.
It was haunting in it's story with a tale that has etched itself in my heart ever since I finished it.
Rory is a teenager who has been to hell and back. Putting the pieces of this story together as the pages turned was killing me!
Sam (Cap) is adorable and the way he sees Rory is so touching but he has his own crosses to bear so this series is one where delicate situations are detailed in such a beautiful respectful and heart wrenching way.
The secondary characters are perfect! The support cast for this beautiful series is so on point it's crazy!
And Cam - holy hell - I cant even mention him without feeling my eyes water up - he stole my heart and the some!
The bond that grows and blossoms Rory and Cap especially during a time in their lives where they have no idea how badly they need each other is strong and poignant!
I couldn't recommend this series or anyone of the book included enough!
5 plus stars for this series that ripped my heart out and kept a piece of it before putting it back together!!
Books with characters who are still in high school is not one I would seek out. But this story captivated me from the beginning.
I think I experienced it all. From laughing to crying, happy to angry, anxiety, disgust, helplessness, fear and patience.
Society can be ruthless and judgmental. Victims are sometimes treated as if they were the criminals.
Throughout the story I felt sympathy for Rory but as I read my feelings changed to empathy.
This is a beautiful story that left me broken, I am dying to read book 2.
I've always LOVED reading Male POV, I actually look for it in books. I don't know, maybe because it makes me feel I can dissect their feelings and thoughts. It's like being able to get in their head!
Sam or CAP is one of my favorite character I've read. He makes you feel loved and cherished. He will walk to hell and back to protect you and is ready to make any sacrifices to ensure your happiness and safety.
I'm so glad Danielle wrote this Novella. We really get to know Sam in Book 1 "Normal" but I was able to get closer to his heart and state of mind in this story.
This series is one of those I'm so glad I went outside my box. I'm not a big fan of Young Adults Stories. I loved and enjoyed reading Sam and Rory's journey.
In Book 1: Normal it was a good reminder how society can be so judgmental and cruel. My feelings for Rory started as sympathy but as I read it became empathy. The Twist in the story broke my heart but then there would have been no Sam who I adored since their hallway encounter.
In ReCap a Novella, I fell deeper in love with Sam. I felt closer to him emotionally and after reading I jumped right into Normal and read until 5am and literary forced myself to call it a night.
In this book, I found myself crying and my heart breaking and I didn't know for who more. Sometimes people makes sacrifices for the benefit of the person they love. So seeing two people sacrificing each other's happiness for the other was heartbreaking.
Danielle really made me work emotionally throughout this series and for the record is one of my all time favorite. It's definitely in my top reads of 2017.

I really enjoyed this book. LOVE the way it is written. This is a Young Adult (all characters are late teens). Content is very dark, yet also very truthful.Read more
