They are the kind of quick witted and foul mouthed couple you watch like a tennis match, fueled by popcorn and wine.
They have to navigate many landmines and hand grenades to find their way to love. Many obstacles of their own making, other obstacles built and reinforced by the people of their childhood, and still other obstacles obstructed by the black smoke of secrecy.
Tiffany Patterson writes about the kind of life experience that makes HEA too hard to believe in. She writes about how long one might have to wait before Something or Someone Special comes along. She writes about making decisions and changing the course of your life until it's the one that makes you truly YOU...hammocks, hula hoops and all.
The way these two appeared to hate each other I didn’t think it would be possible to believably craft their inevitable coming together, but the author did a fantastic job. They didn’t just suddenly look at each other and realize they were madly in love. The progression was slow but not too slow.
The book kept me enthralled from beginning to end. Both characters have pasts that have shaped how they view love and relationships and that commonality is one of the things that ultimately makes them perfect for each other.
There was a generous amount of humor, suspense and passion. All the makings for a 5 star read!
I look forward to more books of this type from the author.
All that bickering, you knew they would be fire together! Take charge Jamal and combative Gabby are two peas in a pod. Both dealing with childhood drama but not letting that define their adulthood.
Loved the chemistry, characters, and dialogue. Great addition to your library!
