Using this is definitely much cheaper (under $60) than getting a professional ceramic coating done. I don't expect it to be the same as a $3k job but for me, this is "good enough". It is still quite a bit of work and elbow grease, but it is definitely DIY-able.
I applied this on a brand new Toyota, here are my steps:
1) Use a light polish to clean up the whole vehicle, body, glass, wheels; the surface should be absolutely "clean" before the sealing
2) Then apply the "BaseCoat" with the included microfiber cloth wrapping the included small sponge applicator #1
3) Working in small section at a time, letting the "BaseCoat" dry for up to a minute, and quickly wipe the surface off of any excess and also polish the newly sealed/coated surface with a clean microfiber cloth
4) Allow the "BaseCoat" to cure and bond with the surface overnight
5) Apply the "GrossCoat" with the included large sponge applicator #2
6) Again, working in small area, right after I apply the "GrossCoat", I wipe/polish the surface with a clean microfiber cloth
I treated all the surfaces - the body, the glass, the lights and the wheels. The result is gorgeous. I gave a deep, deep shiny. Hopefully this will last for a while.
UPDATE:
It had been 6+ months, and the car had gone thru 10000mi including a couple of road trips. The coating seems to be holding up. Subsequent washing is easy, water beads up, and the surfaces dried easily. After the washing, I just use a quick spray on wax on the vehicle, and the deep shines come back again.
Thank you for reading this review, I hoped that this review & the pictures are helpful to you in support of your purchase decision.

The results were pretty amazing though. The car just didn't seem to get dirty. Then we had a few days of rain and when we drove the car the water just flew right of the surface. A week after application I washed the car and everything was easier. The wash mitt glided right over the surface and none of the usual contaminants were left behind when I ran my hand over the paint. I used a damp MF towel to dry the car and that was even easier because the water just couldn't grip to the paint's surface.
Lastly, the shine is amazing. I've used many products over the years and this provided some of the best results. After washing I applied Sonax Polymer NetSeal and I will apply a layer of their wax next time. So far these Sonax products have been tough to work with but for me, the results are worth it. If you're looking for and easy coating, this isn't it.

Product is really great

Product is really great
Its a two step process
Here’s the product review:
Product worked great. I’ve applied several different types of coatings including Gyeon and CQuartz. Environmental factors really play a roll in the ease of application. 15-20 degrees Celsius and low humidity definitely works best.
Prep work is very important. If you don’t get all the bugs off or scratches out, you can expect they will stay there for a while!
To prep a vehicle, you’re best to use a DA polisher. Wash vehicle then follow these steps:
First a “cut” step (I use Chemical Guys V32).
Second a “polish” step (Chemical Guys V38)
Third, use a degreasing wash (Chemical guys “Clean Slate”) or a degreasing spray on from CarPro works as well.
Feel free to use your favourites, just use these products as guidelines!
**Making sure the paint is in Prestine condition with no bugs, swirl marks or halograms, etc is very important before ceramic application!**
At this point you can follow the directions that come with the package. Apply base coat, wait 1 hour minimum, then apply the gloss coat.
I waited over night on some parts of the vehicle (not recommended) then 2 hours on other parts and the application of the gloss coat was much easier waiting on 2 hours between coatings.
Hard to tell what the longevity will be, but so far I’m very happy. Extremely hydrophobic! We had a light rain over night last night and it literally rinsed all the bugs off my windshield! Loving it

1) Wash vehicle.
2) Clay Bar vehicle.
3) rewash vehicle and dry under shade quickly avoiding any water spotting.
4) Mechanical buffing machine with appropriated buffing pads and polishing creams to achieve mirror like finish (you will need a cutting pad with appropriate polish to remove any paint scratches and imperfections, and a final finishing pad with finishing polish to create that just painted look).
5) wipe down vehicle with either diluted rubbing alcohol and water, or use a product from CarPro prior to treating the surface.
Your results will all come down to step 4, the money maker. If you can get the mirror like finish, then whatever ceramic coating you use, will look amazing.
As for Sonax, it is too soon to say how long lasting, because I just finished putting it on. So, here goes...
Pro:
REALLY easy to use, it does not dry up to a elbow grease like tough to remove.
It does not affect the body molding or rubber if you accidentally get some on.
It is the only one you get that comes in a two step package, as most ceramic based coatings recommend a shine or additional coating that is up to you to purchase and acquire.
Super convenient aerosol like spray on pad convenience, whereas most other products require you to invert bottle upside down and onto pad and let gravity take it's course as you shake the bottle repeatedly for more product (kind of a pita after spending 3-5 hours prepping your paint, your tired and are less patient with things like that)
To date, the CQuartz Carpro ceramic coating is the longest lasting, best ceramic coating for home user to date, based on experience over the long haul. This stuff will literally leaves a coating similar to like if you got your vehicle shot with clear coat paint. It is a royal pain in the @ss if you ever want to remove it, because you will need to use harsh mechanical process in order to do so, which goes to say how lasting this product really is.
I cannot say how good or long lasting the Sonax Ceramic Coating will be, but to date, I do not expect it to be like the Cquartz just because of it's nature (when you use Cquartz, you will know what I mean). Cquartz is a thicker liquid that starts to dry on applications after 30 seconds or so and becomes sticky so you know when to stop rubbing in a criss cross manner, and allowing another 30 seconds to haze up somewhat before buffing off. Sonax is not like that, it will remain tack free, and if you continue to rub in a criss cross manner, it will rub right out rather than become tacky.
Like I mentioned in above, step 4 will be the result of your work, because no ceramic coating or car wax for that matter, will improve what you didn't do in step 4. So you could slap on turtle wax and get the same result vs Sonax, or Cquartz. The Ceramic coating is designed to protect the finish, not improve the finish. But hopefully will last and repel rain, sun, snow, sleet, salt and still make step 4 looking like it was when you polished your car... time will tell.
