Gia is like many teens is uncomfortable with the way she looks and how others see her. Her being gay may be part of the reason, but her parents loving acceptance went a long way to make it easier for her. She did like a girl, Alice, until he, Oliver, came out as Trans putting an end to her interest. Her life with her best friends Zoe and Miguel went as usual until the night of the picnic when everything changed. When Oliver comments on ho nice she looks in her bathing suit something starts to change inside Gia. Gia takes a dare to go find Oliver in the woods, but what she finds blows her mind. At first she hears music which draws her a party filled with woodland creatures, but most telling is that Oliver himself is a fae. Gia learns all about the Faerie realm, but the most important thing is she accepts Oliver as he is. Things are never simple in the faerie realm and when Miguel and other students start acting strange Gia and Oliver know they are in danger. Going to the queen isn’t easy for Oliver especially since she is his mother who sent him to live in the human world. The danger ramps up placing everyone in danger if Gia, Oliver, and their friends with the fae are put to the test as an old enemy returns with a vengeance.
This was a complex and fast moving story that incorporates modern day social issues woven together with mythological creatures who take on a life of their own. This is the third book in the series and I for one can’t wait to read the other books.
Received for an honest review.
I Loved this book! The song of the Faerie Prince so wonderfully combined all the best elements of the faerie realm with modern relatable characters that where easy to love! I Loved Gia and Oliver learning to find strength to be who they really are and to love themselves and each other for who they really are and not who they thought everyone else or even they themselves thought they should be! I Loved learning all the elements of the fae world and seeing that even faeries have relationship and family issues much like us mear humans!
I would also like to point out that even though this was the third book in a series i never once felt lost and not only can not wait for the next one to come out to continue the story but want to go back to the beginning and read them all from the start! Well done once again Nine Star press can not wait to see what you have for me next!!
