Perhaps more like 3.5, I did enjoy the story as much as it was a retelling of the little mermaid but with a twist, I do think that when the secret was out the forgiveness happened too quickly, I think if it had been explored a little more would have made the story much more stronger
Love is complicated and it was not so easily explored! The buildup was good, I don’t normally enjoy books that have two POVs but I actually really liked both main characters POV.
It does have a small epilogue that eludes to a sequel but maybe not since so much was similar to the original story and we all know how that ends so we kinda know how this will end.
I do think it was very wrapped up with a bow storyline, and everyone is in LOVE which is annoying but I suppose many people enjoy those types of books.

And I finished it in two days, I was on the edge of my bed the entire time.Multiple times I could feel my own heart racing and I got flustered just reading this. Not to mention balling tears at the end.I absolutely loved it and would recommend it to anyone

I loved this book, I got it from a recommendation of a friend because it had rivals that ended up falling in love that had to choose between their task at hand, and love for another. And I finished it in two days, I was on the edge of my bed the entire time.
Multiple times I could feel my own heart racing and I got flustered just reading this. Not to mention balling tears at the end.
I absolutely loved it and would recommend it to anyone

A Song of Silver and Gold by Melissa Karibian is a YA to NA fantasy loosely based on the little mermaid. Kae, captain of the Mar Daemon, and his crew are determined to hunt and destroy sirens. Aqeara, a siren, is also on the hunt for the heart of the one she hates the most. Both parties are deceiving eachother by hiding their true identities. But what happens when romance gets in the way? They both must decide whether their starting goal is worth their new found attraction!
This book was so much fun to read! The main characters weren't boring, they had a mind of their own and are very strong. Even the side characters showed so much variation in their personalities and their friendships grew so much.
I mean, who wouldn't want to read about pirates, adventure, world building, great banter, found family, and forced proximity!?! This book also gives you mythical creatures, vengeance, enemies to lovers and lgbtq representation!!!
