About the Author
Professionally, Jeffrey Rowe writes about health IT and other healthcare related topics for a range of trade, policy and general audience publications. After hours, however, he is writing a series of novels that take place in medieval Spain, a time when the culture, politics, and history of the Iberian peninsula were largely defined by the interplay between the Christian, Muslim and Jewish communities.

We are given a parallel story of a young Muslim man living in Toledo, dealing with the shift in ruling religions and cultures. We get to Toledo, we get to the big ceremony, and... pffft.
The book needs a through edit -- several places it was obvious it was originally a first-person narrative, but was hurriedly shifted into third-person. Someone went to some trouble to make that shift, but did not follow through on the story itself... what a shame!
