I have a number of these birdsong CDs. They really add to relaxation and the feeling of being in nature. I'm moving to a big city and may (or may not) have a deck or balcony and probably will hear more sirens and traffic sounds than nature, so I know this CD will be in my portable player while I sit outside. The songbirds were soft and relaxing when suddenly a LOUD piano score drowned out their song. The piano had a startling effect. If the music had been tracked as background rather than foreground, I might enjoy this recording. As it was, I found this far from relaxing, and certainly not for pre-slumber. Part of it was my own fault, as I didn't notice that music "enhancement" was included. I much prefer the gentle nature sounds on their own. I will be returning the unopened CD, which was intended as a gift.

Solitudes versteht es wie kein zweites Label, sehr harmonische Musik vom hervorragenden Künstern verbunden mit hochqualitativen Naturgeräuschaufnahmen den Hörer zu beeindrucken. Diese Musik ist ähnlich wie z.B. George Winston oder Narada-Aufnahmen. Sogar Jazz-Musiker können sich davon eine Scheibe abschneiden. Manche "Siebengescheite" denken, New Age Musik ist billig und musikalisch miserabel. Solitudes beweist mit seinen unzähligen CD's, das das nicht der Fall ist. Ich selbst habe bereits über 50 CD's und diese sind ebenso gut wie in Klassik DGG oder Chandos. Ich kann jedem leidenschaftlichem Musikliebhaber Solitudes empfehlen. Piano Songbirds spielte übrigens John Herberman ein. Solitudes vertreibt neben Nuturgeräusch-CD's noch das Label Avalon. Darin sind zum Teil keltische Titel enthalten. John Herberman ist ebenfalls sehr virtuos vertreten.
