This is one of the best plush dolls I have ever seen. It is Baby Sonic. It is apparently modeled off the pre-redesign of Sonic. But I do not care. I loved the original design. I loved the redesign. I love Sonic. And I want this plush on my shelf forever.

Still, despite how weird Sonic was looking before, this plush of him in his younger days is actually pretty adorable. The material is soft, the build is pretty solid, and though it's hard to see in pics, he has a big ol' smile across his muzzle. The official height listing is pretty accurate, with the whole plush being just shy of 9 inches tall, so he's a good size to just sit on your desk or wherever you like to display your collections.
The only bad thing I can really say about it is that the tag on the leg is obnoxiously huge. Still, you could always cut that off if it bothers you, unless you're a hardcore collector. Aside from that, I really can't complain about this little guy, and if you're a fan of the blue blur, this is a fairly inexpensive item to add to your collection.

Just in case there's anyone still unaware of the crazy story surrounding the upcoming Sonic movie, the design for Sonic himself in the movie went through a huge overhaul (and, again, if you somehow missed the madness, just google it). However, movie merchandise is produced way ahead of any movie's release, so even though Sonic himself went through a major change, there's still the toys that are made to reflect his initial, bizarre likeness. No idea if/when updated toys will come out, so for now, this is what you can expect to see.Reviewed in the United States on January 25, 2020
