This was one of my first purchases as a game to play for my Wii U when the Wii U first released. I vividly remember enjoying the game despite the massive amount of hate for it online. Recently I was feeling nostalgic, so I re-bought a Wii U and this game. I can safely say this game is incredibly fun. While yes, the gameplay is slow and the levels are somewhat un-inspired, there's some diamonds in the dirt in this game. First thing I have to praise is the graphics, even though this game runs at 30 fps on the Wii U, the colors are extremely vivid and pop off the screen. Most of Sonic's moveset is also here, with some new additions. The super peel out from Sonic CD is here, a reworked spin dash ( it goes infinitely now and if you hold down the spin dash button, automatically resumes the spin dash if you jump and land, similar to the drop dash in Sonic Mania ) and the bounce from SA2. Along with some new moves, a kick variation of the homing attack which unironically "kicks" the enemy you hit into surrounding enemies, a new run button, ( if you're used to the boost formula its basically the boost but it lasts infinitely ) some new wisps: eagle, asteroid, and rhythm are the new ones off the top of my head. Just fyi, if you purchase the 3ds version, the wisps will be slightly different, along with level design. Obviously the elephant in the room is the controversial parkour system. I personally love it, but I wish it wasn't so limiting. While there is techs to infinite wall run/scale walls, most of the time the sections the levels implement to coax the player into using the parkour system are so brief you can't really use the new system to its full potential. One thing that is annoying though is when Sonic vaults over obstacles when you don't want him to, but this happens so rarely it isn't a big problem. A unique thing this game does is lock levels based upon how many animals you've rescued, a feature I didn't find annoying at all since 90% of the time you get enough animals simply by playing and exploring the levels, but if you want to NEVER deal with this problem, simply go to the first level. There's an area with multiple animal capsules which you can open and then die to reset them, as your animal count in a level saves even if you die. The most amount of animals you'll need to unlock everything in the game is 5,000, so you can just abuse that until you have enough. Another criticism of the game I see people throw around is the game is too easy, and while I can admit the game isn't all that challenging, there were still several times I found myself needing to grind lives to avoid a game over, so take that how you will. All in all, I definitely recommend this game, and while it does have some strange design choices and glitches, I still got a lot of enjoyment out of this game.

Despite Sonic's 3D outings being more often bad than good, Lost World looked like it had potential, borrowing bits from Super Mario Galaxy and incorporating spherical platforms into the once-rival mascot's game. Unfortunately, Sonic Lost World suffers from major control and precision issues, including a new lock-on system that barely works and activates too late when you jump. The new baddies look like Sesame Street rejects and aren't charming new additions to the Sonic universe. Sonic Colors was the one 3D title most fans actually enjoyed, so of course, Sega had to milk and ruin its positive innovation in the Wisps by using them horribly here, sometimes relying on unreliable gyro controls.

It got an extra star because I felt like the low price was a good compensation. Similar spirit to original sonic games but too varied. Too many controls/powers which aren’t explained or taught in game, too eclectic of a world (some levels are side scroller, some open, very windy and Mario Galaxy-esque), too easy to finish the level without realizing you missed everything. Just not what I wanted from Sonic

What can I say? I'm a huge Sonic The Hedgehog fan, and when I first saw the screenshots of this game coming to Wii U, I knew it had promise. My opinions started to sway once reviews started pouring in, but thank God I didn't listen to those people. This game is exactly what I wanted in a new Sonic game. Great gameplay, a colorful soundtrack, secret hidden collectables, and a truly great and funny story. The only part of.the soundtrack I didn't like in the whole game is unfortunately the title screen music which happens to be the main theme. It mainly just keeps looping and I get bored of it very quickly. Besides that one song, I thought the soundtrack was phenomenal and genuinely got me pumped to play the game every time I turned it on. The gameplay greatly reminded me of Super Mario Galaxy, and even though they weren't able to achieve the same level of perfection that it has, they still did a dang good job. There are a few missteps in the gameplay like bad camera angles, but I found myself getting used to them over time. Getting this game as a Wii U exclusive is a huge score for me. It's one of the best Sonic games they have released in many years and I am proud to have it in my collection on Wii U.

Game just blows my mind. No other way to put it. I swear - it's like Super Mario Galaxy and Sonic the Hedgehog mated and had an illegitimate child that held the codes to the Universe itself.

Seriously, the game is that freaking good.

I hope you have balls when you experience this game because I don't know what else you're going to be tripping over when this thing throws you into a 3-D version of your early 90's childhood memories. I still need a towel.

Upon release this game received quite the divided reaction. Many people said that it's not fast enough, that it's doesn't live up to the older titles, that it's not good. And other's said that it's not at all bad like big review sites, IGN for example, made it out to be. Do i think it's the best Sonic game? No. Do i think it's terrible? Hell no. This game is a lot of fun, it's not as fast as, say, Sonic Generations, but it's still a lot of fun and a different way to play Sonic. I never played Mario Galaxy, but from what i hear it borrowed a lot from it, which if it did doesn't mean it's bad.

Anyway enough beating around the bush. This game is a lot of fun, it's a fast pace and rewarding game. The music is quite enjoyable, you won't see any Crush 40 in here but the soundtrack is still very well done. There are a few parts in the game where you'll see "cheap" deaths happen, but don't let that turn you away from the game. I've had a few parts where i've been massivly annoyed in a certain fashion how i died, or a certain giant snow ball level that shall remain nameless, but i still don't regret buying this Sonic title.

Excelente juego, eh de decir, que lo compre por aumentar un poco mi colección de juegos de wiiu, realmente me parece una muy buena consola y este juego en su lanzamiento, la opinión de los usuarios no me hacía decidirme por el, en una oportunidad y con un buen precio de Amazon me anime a comprarlo y la verdad valió la pena.
El juego es grandioso, tiene sus defectos no es perfecto pero es muy entretenido, hay mejores niveles que otros hay algunos que me encantan que vas sobre rieles y solo debes controlar la dirección de sonic, como si fuera un juego run, pero mucho mejor ejecutado, hay otros que son bidimnesionales muy bien realizados con muchos secretos. Es un arte encontrar las 5 monedas rojas, porque algunas están más escondidas que otras. Gráficamente cumple su función y es un deleite jugarlo en el gamepad, me parece un juego cumplidor y para pasar un rato agradable, encontrando todos los coleccionables que toman lo mejor de sonic, con guiños (por sus mundos esféricos) a mario galaxy, para nada es un mal juego, si tienes un Wii U y si por casualidad no has jugado este juego lo recomiendo, no es un mario oddissey pero es muy divertido
