This review is based on my personal experience. Your mileage may vary.
Before I get to the game, I must talk about the physical material. The quality feels, right. You might think the gold ring cartridge feels cheap, but I disagree, it feels like a Genesis cartridge. The sonic statue is great (though it does require batteries). They have the same 16-bit "SEEGAA." The card is nice, and the box itself is worthy of display. As a collector, it's worth the extra money. Not for everyone though. It does take up quite a large amount of space.
Now for the game. When I was 6 I played a sonic game at a Funcoland. I was impressed, with all the colors, and the speed, and the fox helper that can fly and pick you up. I played it only once, for maybe 5 minutes. 10 years later I begin collecting, and I now have all the Sonic games with an original genesis on a good CRT, however, it just didn't capture my wonder like it did back when I was 6. When I booted up Sonic Mania, oh man, the colors, the speed, the fox helper that can fly and pick you up (I know his name is Tails, now). It took me back to when I played Sonic at Funcoland all those years ago, and this flashback to one of my earliest gaming memories was worth every penny. I'm only at zone 3 at the time of writing, but it's classic sonic in all it's glory, that may help you recapture your childhood.

The statue is high quality, solid, detailed, and very sturdy! I have followed Sonic my whole life. Sonic 2 was the first game I ever played and the Genesis was my first game system. I've been obsessed with the blue guy ever since the age of two! I've been dying and yearning for this game! A game that made me feel like a kid all over again, for SEGA to take us back to a time where Sonic was the best game around as far as quality and sales was concerned, when SEGA and Sonic was synonymous with innovation. Here I am in 2017 in my 20's listening to my 12' replica of Sonic play some classic Genesis tunes! This is fan fare SEGA and WE LOVE IT! Thanks SEGA! This is what your fans have wanted! I'm overjoyed and throughly impressed with the game! I want this game physically released so I can collect the disc along with all the other Sonic games I have! The preorder is over guys but PLEASE buy this game and support this beautiful new direction SEGA has taken! Best game since Sonic and Knuckles! And I'm serious!!!

The CE (Collector's Edition) of this game is pretty sweet. Amazon only charged me $40~ for this, and so far the items feel worth it.
First up is the overall packaging. The game comes in a small outer box that holds another, thicker box containing the CE items. For some reason, even though the thing hasn't been opened, the box was slightly damaged. Like the glue or whatever holding it together is peeling off.
The first main item is the statue. It is about 12" in height, and pretty wide as well (so you'll want to have some space before you put it somewhere). The statue itself isn't heavy, but it doesn't feel cheap either. The statue also plays the "SEGA" soundbite from the original Sonic games. (statue requires only 2 AA batteries).
Next up is the cartridge. It's a mock-up of the original Genesis cartridges, featuring the cover art of Sonic Mania. It also allows you to pull a tab to reveal the golden ring hidden underneath. The ring can be removed from the cartridge if you wish, but personally I believe it's better to leave it inside.
Last thing on the list is the metallic card. There's nothing too special about it, it has art of Sonic Mania on the front and back featuring the three characters. Its about the size of a regular business card, and has a nice premium feel to it.
Because the game comes as a download, the voucher is located on a piece of paper. The code will be on the back and upon redemption, you will notice that it comes with 10 items. 9 of the items are PSN avatars and PS4 themes. The 10th is the game (obviously).
All together, the exclusive items bundled in this edition are definitely worth the price, especially the statue.

Servizio Amazon perfetto come al solito, meno quello del venditore che viste anche altre recensioni non menziona che il codice download è scaduto. La statua li vale tutti i soldi spesi però un po'più di serietà anche nel prezzo nel caso ,sarebbe stata apprezzata per non aver brutte sorprese come queste.
