This is the sonic game I've been waiting for over 2 decades to play! The game is absolutely fantastic and the Sonic Statue is awesome. The quality is a bit on the cheap side, but it really does remind me of the promo items I remember seeing in game stores back in the 90's (both in style and quality). The Sonic collectors edition is a great little tribute to both Sonic and the Genesis itself. The attention to detail is something I appreciate. It's the simple things like being able to push the "volume button" up and down (doesn't actually change anything), to the included "cartridge" that is an exact size copy of an actual one. The Statue itself is a great piece although you are unable to adjust his arms or remove him from the base. The complete set has enough weight to it that it doesnt feel cheap even though its nothing but plastic. I love that when you hit the on swith, you get the classic "SEGAAAAA" start up sound. The included "cartridge" comes with a nice heavy gold ring which though a neat touch, there isn't really a use for it. The included tin card is the strangest piece to me as it serves 0 purpose other than for looks and seems like something that was just thrown in for the heck of it. I personally would have preferred a replica genesis case for the included cartridge. The replica Genesis box that everything came in is a nice tribute to the original Genesis box from back in the day. The game itself is classic Sonic. If you were ever a fan of the old Genesis games then you'll feel right at home with this one. It feels like the true Sonic 4 that fans have wanted for years.

This is by far one of the best and arguably the best collectors edition I have encountered in a very, very long time. Many collectors editions are overpriced and come packed with frivolous items that many dont need or want or the items themselves feel or look cheap.
1. The game itself is great. If you are an old school fan of Sonic, Tails and Knuckles, you will love the game. It has nostalgia written all over it. While it does bring back the old, it has new additions as well.
2. The collectors items themselves are OUTSTANDING. You get a 12" tall sonic made of hardy plastic standing on top of a Sega Genesis console which is made to scale. The Genesis is the size of the original console that came out back in 1989. When you turn it on, it says "SEEEGAAA" as if you would hear when you boot up the original game.
3. It also comes with a collectors card made of metal. Very nice.
4. You also get a replica, made to scale Sega Genesis cartridge that when you pull out, you get a Sonic ring which has a durable heavy feel to it. None of the items feel cheap.
Overall this is a must have items for Sega Genesis and Sonic fans.

Nostalgia city. If you want to be zapped back to the early 90s for a trip down memory lane, Sonic Mania will send you there at faster-than-light speeds. I really can't give you too many downsides to buying this package; what you see is what you get. The game itself is a wonderful love letter to Sonic games of old - with beautiful sprites and catchy chip-tune-esque music.

As for the package, this is definitely something for diehard Sonic fans -- your average joe probably won't find too much utility or pleasure in inert trinkets but the sonic statue alone was enough for me. The ring and mock-cartridge are cool, and the collector's card has attractive graphics.

I hate ticking off a star but I'm still giving this a 4/5 because my collector's box was pretty damaged - not enough to warrant a return, but enough to make me grimace a bit.

This is such a great collectors edition and was throughly surprised when I finally saw the quality of it all. I don't know why I didn't think it would be as big as it was but it is definitely a foot tall and the Genesis console is a replica system. Also, the cartridge looks like one from back in the day and I personally love the metal card a lot! It just makes the game even better when all the collector's edition items are perfect!

+Sonic Mania is the game we have been waiting for!
+Sonic statue and Genesis system are great looking
+The price is a real deal for what you get

If you are a Sonic fan and you have the funds to purchase this, you need to grab it. The statue is perfect to add to the collection and I can't help but recommend it. Don't forget that the best part is that you are still getting an amazing game too!

For the 11 yo birthday boy, who is a sonic nut, its 5 stars all around and he loves it, both the game and the extra "stuff" . For the parents that got it for him. Only 1 star, because the game is good, but all the other stuff is way way over priced. And all the base does is go "segaaaaa" Not even the power light turns on /sigh. Over all 3 stars. But if its a die hard sonic fan your getting it for go ahead and get it, they will love it :-) Other wise just get the base game for 20 bucks.

The statue is also one of kind. I was expecting a decent (small) figure with some detail but boy was I surprised. The Sega system is life size and the Sonic is about a foot tall. Nothing beats hearing the 'SEGA!' sound when flicking the switch. This collector's edition is a must have for any Sonic fan out there!

Es una edicion que se ve bonita como decimos a veces ( Se ve muy bonita pero de lejos ) porque ya si te acercas y vez los detalles de la base y la verdad la calidad de los plásticos con los que esta hecho el Sonic son regulares y con la que esta hecha la base son malos que cuando do la agarras hasta truenan y parece que se fuera a quebrar si la golpeas por accidente se que es muy poco dinero por lo que nos ofrecen pero lo hubieran hecho un poco de mejor calidad aunque valiera un poco mas ya que es de colección

Relive nostalgia with Sonic in his prime. The collectors edition of this release is worth it for any fanatic of the series who enjoy collecting but otherwise steer clear. I had to snap this up. The original power switch from the Sega Genesis actually works on the base of this Sonic collectable which says in all its original glory....."Sega!!" Awesome !! Also the cartridge carries s surprise inside plus a metal plate collectable along with a Sonic Mania download card for the new game released.
