The only recommendation I would make is that you don't need to use as much of the cleaning solution as the instructions specify you do. In fact, using that much makes the jewelry feel a little oily. I recommend about 1/2-1 cap of solution in some warm water...just enough water to cover whatever you're putting in there. That works wonders for my jewelry and conserves the solution so it doesn't run out too fast.
Picking this up, I was able to disassemble and clean an airbrush gun within 10 minutes (with only about 1 minute of that being actual effort/work).
The item itself is pretty straight-forward.. it's a large dish with a lid, and 2 buttons: On and Off. No timers, no settings, no countdown on the top.
The inside is lined in metal and includes a small plastic basket for tiny pieces, and a plastic stand for watches.
Fill the thing with your cleaner of choice (I usually fill with water and a couple cap-fulls of the included liquid -- I hear people use dish soap or windex with good results), hit the ON button and wait for it to turn off (it auto-shuts-off after 3 minutes).
I tend to do 2 run-throughs with a cleaning fluid (6 minutes total) and then 1 final one with just clean water to get any chemicals off, then let it dry.
Tried a pair of glasses and it also worked very nice - got any small bits of dirt that are normally not accessible due to the tight spots they're in.
I haven't used this as a full replacement for cleaning, I typically clean out the airbrush briefly and then put it in the ultrasonic cleaner when it needs a more thorough cleaning.
The only downsides I see are.. it's small. Real small. I was expecting it to be bigger.. this thing is maybe 6.5" long by 4" wide on the inside, and it's oval shapes, so those are the widest dimensions. Once you put the plastic liner in, it's even smaller. This is kind of nice if you need to clean small items, but it may require multiple "fills" of items depending how much you need to clean. I've seen some where people will put 3-4 airbrushes in at once without any problem.. this one fills easily with just 1.
The unit also has a permanent blue LED shining into the tank (even when off) which may be an issue for those wanting to keep it plugged in.
It also doesn't have settings for time -- just on/off (3 minutes at a time) and also no countdown timer. For me, thats not a problem but it may be for some.
I was pleasnat surprised how well this works (meaning ultrasonic cleaning - with the right fluid). No idea about long term stability, but it's cheap enough that I consider this buy a success.
