This is a great C.D., I remember when it came out the first time on vinyl. I have seen this band twice and they are definitely worth seeing and listening to live in concert. Now, if only Epic Records or some other record company would release everything else they did in the seventies.(Epic Records did a double album of their greatest hits ,they did in the seventies. That's what I am wanting the most. There is a instrumental they did called,"Pipeline".No other band could do better with that song.Flash Cadillac And The Continental Kids, is a great band!

Back in 1974 I was listening to KJR (the then AM powerhouse in Seattle) and I never heard "Did you Boogie With Your Baby" with Wolfman Jack, I don't know how KJR missed it. Instead while listening to skip (which is what AM radio is good for and allowed people to listen to different stations) I was able to pick up KTAC out of Tacoma and I was instantly in enthralled with this band. I Immediately bought the 45 which came on the Private Stock label.

Let me mention here that I was living in a town of three thousand and the only way to get some music was to order the music through a drug store... And they had to look through a catalog about the size of an unabridged English dictionary.

A year or so later, I listened to "Good Time Rock and Roll" on KFI out of San Francisco (again listening to skip. In fact they had a vocal drop in mentioning KFI in the song which to this day I don't know if it was the band or studio singers. I know this doesn't make much difference but back in the day some bands would, for extra money, personalize songs for some big stations).

Now I realize I did not give you any information about the album and band rather I took you down memory lane. After all isn't that what radio is all about, the soundtrack of your life?

The rating comes in with this: IF you want or love good old-fashioned rock music you will not be disappointed. The music is upbeat, and the vocals are tight. Flash had the potential to be bigger than the Beach Boys, but for some fluke in history they did not. You owe it to yourself to hear what might have been. I bought the CD when the price dropped from over $70 to a more reasonable price, I bought the MP3 music when I realized I couldn't find my CD after a move. Yes it is that good.

I'd never heard of Flash Cadillac before "American Graffiti". But on the strength of their performance in the movie I ordered this album through an import record shop (I still have it, although it's a bit worn these days!)
The classic harmonies and neat guitars and (backing sax) on such tracks as "Time Will Tell" "You Sat Right There" "I Wish Youd Dance" & "Good Times, Rock & Roll" are almost instantly ingrained from the first listen.
With the addition of bonus tracks "Did You Boogie(With your Baby)" and "See My Baby Jive". A classic album of Rock & Roll as performed in the '70's. My only question, why has it taken so long to get this onto CD?
If you like it why not have a listen to the Australian band from the same era, Ol'55.

If I'm allowed to keep only one album or disc, this is it. If you were 18 in 75 and you loved cruisin and great california sound music, nothin was better. I actually got this album by mistake from columbia house and fell in love with it. Their best stuff is their originals. Listen and enjoy.
