Not what I ordered. It tastes different, way too sweet and the ingredients now say it includes xanthan gum. The picture in this item shows what I was hoping to order because I am on my last bottle of this stuff, and this box with this new branding is what I got. I'm incredibly disappointed.

I have at least 30 different bottles of hot sauce in my house, which will eventually get tossed out or given away because of Sontava XX. It is simply the most flavorful hot sauce made. I buy it by the case online so I don't need to rely on stores having it when I run out. If you haven't tried this amazing sauce, buy one today!

UPDATE: Ordered a case directly from Jardine's in Jan 2018 and they have changed the recipe and country of origin! I am heartbroken to say this amazing, fantastic sauce is now the same generic crap sold by 100's of other sellers. I would go with Marie Sharp's HOT if you want something very very close to the Sontava XX, but Sontava HOT is a catastrophe. Such a stupid move by Jardines :(

Do Not Order if you want Sontava Habanero XX produced in Belize.

I ordered what I THOUGHT was a case of Sontava Habanero XX Hot Sauce which (a) has a green label and (b) is a product of Belize. My entire family has been enjoying this sauce for years and so I decided to go ahead and pay what I considered to be a premium price for a case of it. What arrived instead was Sontava Habanero Hot, with a dark red label and it's a product of Columbia. Totally different tasting sauce and what's worse I can get this sauce (if I wanted to and I don't) at the local Cost-Plus for $2.98 a bottle not the more than $5.00 a bottle which I paid. I hold Amazon at least partially responsible for this since the photo of this item is the sauce I wanted is posted on the item, but the green label sauce is not what arrived. Very disappointed. Feeling totally duped.

If you're looking for the original Sontava XX Habanero sauce with the green label, THIS IS NOT IT. It's a drastically different recipe than the original. It changed sometime around late 2017. I used to go through a bottle a week, for years. It was my favorite everyday sauce. Now it's awful. Don't know what they were thinking - hopefully they'll change it back. Check the reviews - years of all five star reviews until the change, then plummeted to 1-2 start across the board!

All of the recent reviewers are correct, this a new recipe made by different folks. Jardine’s has contracted with a different manufacturer. Jardine’s is merely a private label branding company and not an actual manufacturer.

The Sontava XX Habanero sauce we all came to love was made by Marie Sharp out of Belize and has been since 1980. It can be bought on Amazon by searching her brand. It and others of her wonderful sauces can be purchased...thank goodness!!!

Apparently there has been a parting of the ways between Marie Sharp’s and Jardine’s.

This is "formerly" the best hot sauce until they changed the recipe. My question is "WWWHHHYYYYYYYYY"? Yes, Im whining like an upset child. I've been buying this hot sauce for nearly 15 years and it WAS perfect. I cannot understand why the formula changed so drastically into, literally, a completely different product. I mean, who does that?!?!?

This taste like Tapatio, which is fine is you like that type of picante style hot sauce but that's not what this was (formerly). It's pretty disgusting and I couldn't even finish it. Now I buy another brand that's from Belize which is similar but a bit hotter and less citrus which is why I loved Sontava (OG). Sontava had the perfect balance of citrus and hot which is hard to do with habanero. Most hot sauces tend to go more the vinegar route.

Anyway, this formula is a fail. sorry

UPDATE: They changed the formula. It's hot sauce. But nothing special. Actually a huge disappointment. If you're looking for what it used to be like, get Marie Sharps.

I'm 99% confident that this is the same as Marie Sharp's hot sauce. I haven't had them side by side, but the flavor is pretty unmistakable. By far, my absolute favorite hot sauce. I sometimes find myself looking for something to eat just for an excuse to have some of this hot sauce.

I know it's subjective.....but this isn't overly hot for a habanero hot sauce. It's a pleasant heat, and it's flavor can't be beat.
