Unwind with wireless audio that sounds great, just for you. Roam free within about 26' of your TV or sound system and enjoy up to 28 hours of listening on one charge. They're also comfortable, stylish and perfect for cranking the volume without waking the neighbors.

It must be noted you can't hide the base these charge on. If you block the line of site from the base to the headphones you will produce static. Static is not produced by turning your head and walking around the room, as long as nothing comes in between you and the front of the headphone base. I would highly recommend these head phones. I only wish I bought more than one pair on Cyber Monday. Thanks Sony!
Side note, do not buy the package deal amazon suggest with the extra foam covers for the headset. They do not fit.
I am 60 db below normal hearing yet I put the comfortable fitting phones on and at minimum volume I had beautiful, crisp, perfect sound with excellent highs and bass.
Installation took a minute or two to follow the adequate battery installation instructions. I plugged the 3.5mm connector into my Bose aux jack, gave the batteries a couple hours for an initial charge and away I went.
I am sitting in a recliner chair about 20 feet directly in front of the unit. For those who lie in bed or do other things with these, other than the very clear instructions having to do with the headset receiver being in position to receive the transmitted signal, you are not going to have satisfactory reception and won't be happy......but that's your doings, no fault of Sony.
It's just like your remote control. If the remote is not pointed at the receiver in your electronics, it doesn't work. Exactly the same system applies here and you need to apply some common sense.
Note - this review is only about TV use... for music (only) wireless headphones, the options available are greater..
Summary (short and sweet) - Sony is light and comfortable, but sound quality not as good as Sennheiser. If you want comfort buy the Sony... want sound quality, get the Sennheiser.
Currently I use the Sennheiser RS120 ... and bought a a pair for my 89 year old mother.
The sound quality for the Sennheiser RS120 was the best of the 3 TV headphones I bought before them. Great base response - good highs... decent volume for old rockers who like it loud. But they are big and bulky and make my ears warm when used for over an hour. They were too heavy for Mom, and didn't fit snuggly enough... kept falling off her head when she moved. So I bought her the Sony IF245RK.
The Sonys are much more comfortable by every standard... lighter, cooler. With regards to sound quality- you sacrifice the low ends - but for most TV viewing the sound is pretty good. Did not experience the static reported by others on this pair. The infrared for the Sony means you really can't walk around with them and expect to be able to continue listening to the TV. Not a big deal for Mom, but really bad for me. That reason alone makes me prefer the Sennheiser. But for Mom - her preference is comfort, so she likes the Sony.
For those considering bluetooth headphones and using a TV dongle --- I tried several dongles with various wireless bluetooth headphones I own - they all had a delay. This made watching TV like viewing an old Japanese movie where the actor's mouth first moved and then you would hear what he said a second later. Totally unacceptable for TV - but ok when just listening to music.
