Top customer reviews
1) Very comfortable: The pads on this thing are quite thick. I'm still breaking them in, but they are wonderful still. *UPDATE* I find that these headphones are most comfortable when worn with the pads higher rather than lower. When I wore them low, they tended to start hurting after awhile; when worn with the pads closer to the top of my head, I couldn't even feel them :)
2)Sound: For $30 these deliver excellent sound quality. The bass is really nice. I've read other reviews about these things not having equal treble to match the bass, and that may be slightly true and you may recognize that if you're a sound person or are used to studio quality headphones, but for the average joe, you most likely won't notice at all. And if you do, most equalizers on mp3/ipods have a "treble boosting" option.
3) Build Quality: These things are going to last. The cord itself is different; instead of being round, it is flat and less prone to breaking. Plus, the headphones themselves are also fairly light, which is nice! Also, about the cord length...It's around 3 ft. I find it perfect for using with my ipod.
To sum it all up, great price, nice sound, and it looks like I won't be having to buy pair after pair of earbuds anymore!
As for the headphones, I'm very pleased with them. They are probably the most comfortable headphones I've ever used. Literally like putting two pillows to my head that play music. The sound quality is good, as expected. I don't know about anyone else, but I don't find the bass boost to be interfering with my music at all. Just to be clear, I have used them to listen to mostly rock, metal, and electronic music and for an EQ, the "Rock" setting works just fine (these headphones are GREAT for listening to dubstep, just thought I'd mention.) I'm not a fan of rap music, but I imagine they would be great for that as well. The cable isn't ridiculously long, nor is it very short. It's about the length of a normal pair of earbuds, and it's a flat cable so there isn't much worry about the cable getting tangled. They're made of a plastic material but seem to be quite durable, so if you're the type to give them a bit of wear-and-tear, I would think that they would hold up well. I read a review on here saying that sound can be leaked from the bass holes on the outside of the headphones, however I have found that if you don't blast your iPod at full volume, you barely hear any leakage at all. The sounds of a subway, for example would suffice at covering up this little bit of leakage. They may not be noise canceling either but they do do a decent job of blocking outside noise. As most people have mentioned, yes, they are quite large and awkward-looking. But honestly they're just so comfortable that I personally wouldn't care at all wearing them in public. Your ears may get warm after, say, an hour of use but if you take them off for a few minutes, it's all gone.
Overall, definitely worth the $34 and the 5 stars.
The bass can be felt and heard without even putting them over your head. It's amazing and I didn't think I could get something this fantastic for what I spent. Certain songs I will say bring out much better bass than other songs. Techno and remixes of popular songs and so on I have found to have a deeper, heavier bass, which is what I was aiming for overall with any music. My 16 gb Sony Walkman has some settings, not too techy though(although I wish), and the settings allow me to control the bass, hz,.. etc. I've adjusted every setting after switching from the sony headphones that wrapped behind the head, simply because I wanted a richer experience with my new ones, since they were capable of actually doing that. Overall I'm so content with the choice I made to purchase these. As I said, I'm a junkie for BASS so this fulfills what I want to experience daily when I listen to my music on the bus and in the car.
UPDATE: These headphones have alot of sound leakage. Just to let you know. 4/9/12
