It provides virtually unlimited recording and playback time when an AC power source is available. In addition, features like double recording time, Voice Operated Recording (VOR), playback speed control, one-touch recording and playback, Sony-Matic automatic recording level control, and the Clear Voice recording system will help you get it all on tape. The TCM-210DV also features a built-in microphone, LED battery level indicator, external microphone jack, and a cue and review function. A large playback speaker will bring out strong, ambient sound. Top customer reviews
Case Logic Compact Portable Hard Drive Case (Black) (Case Logic PHDC-1)
^ that case does not have room for the power adapter, but offers a very nice fit for the actual unit -- spacious enough to absorb the shock from a drop, and not so snug as to put constant tension on the zipper. I looked at many camera cases, GPS cases, and hard drive cases to reach that conclusion.
Also, a word of warning: the moment you add that case to your cart, it may ask if you want to order the updated version of that item (EHDC-101) -- don't do that, because the updated version has different dimensions.
If you are looking for a case that fits the power adapter (and possibly other stuff) as well, then you might want to consider:
Case Logic TBC-304 Compact Camcorder/High Zoom Camera Case (Black)
^ that case was able to fit the recorder, a spare tape, and the power adapter.
However, I must admit that I was greatly disappointed when I found that the supposedly upgraded model was exactly the same TCM-200DV with an AC adaptor. At first, I thought I was sent the wrong model by mistake so I returned it for a replacement. I later found that it was intentional.
Sony is reputed for good products, so I advise the company to keep it that way. It would have been better if the cassette recorder had been advertised as model TCM-200DV plus AC adaptor instead of presenting it as a new model TCM-210DV.
I rated the product with 4 stars only, not because of poor performance, but because TCM-200DV is stamped on a product that was advertized as TCM-210DV.
With this Sony Cassette Recorder, I lost nothing I recorded that I didn't want to lose. Saved a tremendous amount of time, and alleviated my headaches!
Voice quality is fine, not spectacular. But for the price, and ease of use, it's well worth purchasing.
It could be mush clearer.
Also the buttons are very close to each other, making switches difficult if you do not have small hands. The volume dial is so recessed and small, I can just about make contact with it.
I found this audio cassette recorder and player very, very frustrating to use with poor recording quality.
