The big screen and space saving design is great however there seem many other minor issues.
My husband said the boot time is slow and sometimes went blank and unable to wake from sleep mode.
I already bought top of the line but processor still seem slow. As far as the touch screen i found myself
using the cursor and keyboard more because the touch screen can be slow & unprecise.
I use to concern that it has no dual monitor output but it can
be sloved buying an external video card USB-DVI. So far i am OK happy w the product bec it keeps my daughter entertained.
Sony did offer to have me send it in for one month and they would check it out. I still have to buy another computer because I cannot go a month without working. Still out $1200. Do your research before you buy and don't rely on the Sony name to believe it will be a good product. Sony has many good electronic devices, but they are way behind on computers.
I now understand why Samsung, Toshiba and other companies are leading the way and Sony has faded to a brand of 20 years ago.
Main thing was that the screen stayed off after Sleep or Hibernate and we had to re-boot each time to get to work.
The Viao Customer Care software is just about worthless and in fact seems to interfere with it's operation.
After 14 calls to Philippines Support Services, numerous remote-in sessions and two total reloads of the operating system, they finally sent someone out to the house. It seems they were trying to use up as much of my 1 year warranty as possible. My wife made sure to indicate to the visiting Tech Rep that I needed to be present, so Saturday was perfect. Nope... they showed up on Friday! Because I wanted to be present, the plan was to reschedule. When I called again to reschedule they wanted to go all of the way back through the whole history again. When I ask them if she had read the history she said no. I said I'll wait please read it. Still no concept how to fix it or help. They would not send anyone out again. Now I'm beyond exasperated. Now they want me to ship the machine to their repair center and it seems like the review and repair, will take 4-6 weeks. 2 months left. Can I get it fixed in time?
Do yourself a favor....never buy a proprietary machine like this one. Sony puts too much crappy software on it and it inteferes with the basic operation. Next, is the impossible Tech Support.Don't beleive glowing reviews above, they are all staged by their PR company. No wonder Samsung and others are stealing market share.
All you figure is that Sony Japan and Sony America are happy with how they treat customers.
