Works really great on a Libec HFMP monopod!

I have a Sony AX53 camcorder and shoot action events that I use with the new Libec monopod. My problem is the zoom. It takes a great deal of practice to feather the zoom so there are no explosive zooms and the only control I have is how much pressure I put on the zoom button. I needed a slow focus control and the VCT- PR1 has that. Since the remote can be detached I thought No problem. The problem is the Libec panning handle is 0.5 in in diameter and the Sony is 3/8 inch. I could just hold the remote but that is uncomfortable if you are panning. The Sony remote will not slide on a different panning handle as it requires a rectangular mount. Solution: slide clear vinyl tubing with I.D. Of 3/8 and O.D. 1/2 Inchon the Libec handle and it requires a bit of effort but it works. I really needed the remote to be on the panning handle. Holding the monopod, the remote and still be able to steady the monopod is only workable for me with the remote on the handle. As for the tripod, not really bad, just really light but there is some play in the head even when it is locked down. Maybe that is what others mean by flimsy. I really like the Libec HFMP and VCT-VPR1 combo. With the remote I no longer need to touch the camera anymore and it has made shooting more enjoyable for me as I feel more in control.
