The picture quality is just mind-blowingly good. When I first turned on the TV to set things up, it opened with a burst of bright colors that made me go, "WOW...Oh my GOD, that's beautiful!" After watching the TV for a bit, I told a friend of mine, "This TV is just AWESOME...It's so awesome, I thought I might have an orgasm from watching it." :)
Settings are infinitely adjustable - I recommend looking at reviews of the TV for recommended settings, but in the end, just go with what makes the picture/sound the way you want it.
The Acoustic Multi-Audio is a definite noticeable improvement in sound quality over previous years' models.
I'm no fan of Google, but I have to admit that the Google TV interface works very smoothly and easily. And the TV is pre-loaded with virtually every imaginable app such as Amazon Prime Video, YouTube TV, Hulu, etc. I read some reviews of this TV that said there were problems with streaming - and I was concerned about that because streaming is how I get all my programming now. But I don't see any streaming issues at all - super smooth. I think that perhaps for people who had problems with streaming, the problem may have been with their internet service rather than with the TV.
It's nice and easy that the table top stand "feet" just snap into place - you don't have to insert screws or anything - just slide them into the slots and they lock in.
My only complaint - and I can't believe Sony still hasn't done anything about this, since customers and reviewers have been complaining about it, in regard to every Sony TV, for years: the fact that the remote control doesn't light up. It's an aggravation when you're watching TV in the dark late at night, and you have to turn a light on in order to be able to see what you're doing with the remote.

Do not need or use any of the smart features at all, but I guess they are there if you do.
Setting up the TV was a breeze, and the Google TV interface is user-friendly and straightforward. The TV is a perfect hub for all my electronic devices, including my gaming console and 4K Blu-ray player. The remote control is also easy to navigate, and I can access all my favorite streaming apps without any lag.
Overall, the Sony X90J is an excellent purchase for those looking for a top-quality TV with the latest technology. The picture quality is unparalleled, and the TV has an attractive design that fits perfectly in my living room. Sony does it again!

I LOVE IT. The colors are bright and the hd quality is undeniable, unfortunately I am not a gamer but I am a movie lover (... So I almost regret that I didn't pick the 75 inches ! 😆 ) I never had any deception with sony and it keeps getting better. Many options on it, it's perfect. The sound -as any other tv- is "ok" until you add quality speakers. With my soundbar (ambeo) it's incredible with the HDMI wire.
The only little thing : sometimes it lags in the first seconds after you open it. Once you're on an app it disappears. But it doesn't happen often enough to make me hate it.
My personnal + : the remote. Thin, lightweight, easy to use and really long so you don't loose it. That shape is pleasant. (I had roku remotes, so cheaply made it's not working half of the time... )

Very minor screen tearing when gaming with a PC. Make sure you get a good HDMI 2.1 cable or your TV/computer will just flicker the screen black(clipping the signal) when set to 4K@120hz.
Does it all with out issues. Only complaint is passing Dolby Atmos through from my computer to X90J then to my Sony STR DN1080 it gets a weird audio glitch and cuts out. Simply turn the tv off and back on and audio is back. No audio issues when using the TV apps passing Dolby Atmos to the receiver. I’m assuming its a minor software issue with the TV and hopefully Sony will fix it but probably not knowing Sony’s track record.
Hands down best bang for the buck for everything it offers. I can’t get behind OLED with the potential of burn in and mild brightness. Sony TV’s normally last a long time and I’m banking on riding it out till Tri-laser short throw projectors become affordable.
Highly recommend.
Full array brightness and darkness is great if it's using HDR or Dolby Vision. Not so great on standard def. You'll see visible "halo" around bright objects if the screen is entirely black or nearly all black. This is rarely a problem though, I only ever see it occasionally in loading screens on games.
Brightness and vibrancy exceed my friends OLED. If you prefer bright and accurate colours over and excellent gaming performance over true blacks this is the TV for you. Especially at this price point.
This TV is gorgeous. Is it OLED gorgeous? No, but you're not going to find OLED at this price point. I didn't want to spend another $1000 for OLED and since I play a lot of games, I didn't want to have to worry about burn in.
The google features on this TV are seamless. Being able to install just about any android app onto it is handy if you have your own Plex server.
But there are 2 issues that some might want to know about.
The first, is that the USB ports get powered on intermittently. The TV seems to connect to the internet periodically when it's off, to check for updates and whatever else, and when it does this, the USB ports get powered on. If you plan to use USB powered bias lighting, it means those lights will turn on and off randomly while the TV is off. I got around it by using an advanced power strip, and an LED bias light that powers from 110v instead of USB. I've also heard of people using smart plugs with energy monitors to power on the LEDs when it detects the TV turn on
The second is that, despite is full array backlight LEDs, I find that white subtitles on TV shows cause some light 'blooming'. It's only noticeable in dark scenes, and when the TV is on 'Vivid' mode with full brightness, so I don't notice it enough to make me want to return this otherwise great TV, but some might find it distracting.
The biggest complaint I've seen from reviews is that the viewing angle is narrow, but I only notice that colors start to wash out as extreme angles that would make it uncomfortable to watch TV, and even then, it's only minor. Not like the old TFT lcds from 15 years ago.
I have my large couch centered to the TV, with a smaller chair off to the side, and the TV looks great from either seat.
