There are a bunch of sellers who sell the same thing just rebranded as theirs, sometimes some small differences, but basically all the same, but with some slight differences.
This is a straight forward install. There was some weak instructions included that I didn't bother to read. You just zip tie the control/power unit on the hub with the included zip ties. It is pretty secure once you got it on. The unit has a curvature on the base so it contours with the hub. There is also an included 3M strip to keep it in place. Then you have the string of lights. They are thin and easily manipulated. You just run it around your bike wheel in a pattern that suits your liking. It was just enough with some slack for my 26" cruiser. It can certainly go bigger if I did less loops. What I'm trying to say is basically will fit MOST IF NOT EVERY bicycle. It uses 3 AAA batteries that are NOT INCLUDED. You can either have the lights on all the time, or flashing.
The reason why I'm giving this 2 stars is because I bought 2 of the same colors so I can install it on both wheels. They both work and are fine, but this is what got me--They had both different intensity on the color! It was indeed the same color, same box, from the same seller, same everything. But when I turned them both on I noticed my front wheel was a nice and deep purple/pink color, but the back wheel although still the same was slightly lighter. It was brighter but less color. I took a picture and attached it. Hopefully you can see what I'm trying to describe. In person it is more obvious. I emailed amazon already to escalate the situation and see how this is to be resolved.
It sucks because I spent a nice amount of time having the wire go around cleanly and systematically only to possibly have to remove and redo if I get a replacement sent. If there was no color issues I would give this a 4/5 stars, and I will change it to that if I can have this problem fixed. It's not a perfect score because I have seen other sellers selling the same kit for less and includes the batteries.
EDIT, i did update the rating, simply because it is still a great product. if I had ordered 2 separate colors it would not have mattered and I would have gave this a perfect star rating. I did inform Amazon, and they did help me. The product still holds up and I highly recommend it.
So far they look good. They are just like the "fairy lights" you get for Christmas trees or for the banister. They are copper wires with small little glass or plastic globs which contain a single LED. They have three settings, blinking, solid and off. They take (3) AA batteries.
I am curious about the way they attach. The instructions say to place the battery in the center hub of the wheel. While this doesn't appear to be an issue, I hope it doesn't cause a problem with the wheel.
