What to do with water beads 1. Sensory water beads sensory play is what water beads are best at. Kids of all ages love the feel and look of them. They are so enticing colorful, smooth, squishy, cool... Really, there's not much more you need to do with water beads than have a bowl full of them to plunge your hands into and hold and squish them. Water beads seem like magic to kids because the beads start out so tiny and grow within a few hours. Just watching the beads change is a fun activity for younger kids. 2. Decorating with water beads the most common use for water beads is in decorating. Use them in vases, bowls, and jars for eye appeal. They are great for centerpieces for weddings and other events. The water beads really add a wow factor that can turn ordinary vases and bowls into something beautiful. 3. Water beads for plants water beads are also great to use with plants. They help plants retain water and reduce the amount of watering plants need. They release the water gradually so the plant isn't flooded with water. The water beads can also act as a replacement for soil with some plants. Bamboo plants do well with water beads rather than soil. 4. Orbeez refill save money - use as an orbeez refill for orbeez luxury spa, giant orbeez body spa, orbeez soothing spa, orbeez foot spa chair, orbeez hand spa, orbeez mood lamp, or any other orbeez toys. 6. Therapy toy occupational therapy toys or sensory processing toys - these can be used as autism sensory toys for special needs. Play therapy toys have been shown to be effective as sensory processing disorder toys. Instructions simply place the magic water beads in a large container, fill with water & give them 2-4 hours to grow. It's as simple as that. Package includes: Huge 8oz Sooper Beads bulk water beads at wholesale price .

They are super small when you buy them. I mean super small kinda like quinoa. They grow almost instantly. The package says 1 tbsp to 1.5 quarts of water. Let sit for 8 hours. Drain extra water off and youre good to go.
Okay so ill admit i didnt follow the directions to a T... i only let them sit for about 2 hours. They had gotten pretty big and i was anxious. So we just put them in a container to play with. My son loves them! He likes sticking his toys in and finding them and squishing them in between his fingers.
Oh, I cant forget he loved smashing them with his hammer! Once he was done playing with them i just put them in a cardborad box and let him smash them.
I just feel like they pop super easily.. and like i said i only had them in water for 2 hours.. you would think the longer theyre in water the more breakable they would be. (I also threw another tablespoon of beads in about half way threw soaking so there would be different sizes.)
I guess i expected them to be smooth like marbles but theyre not until theyve reached their full growth potential, until then theyre more shaped like everlasting gobstoppers. Lol
I wont be saving and reusing these ones because so many are popped and it isnt fun to pick thru or easy to strain and not get into your sink. Im sure as we use them more ill figure them out. But the bag is huge so im sure we will have some for a while.
In the pictures that is 2 tbsp of dry beads.

We decided to see how much we could get from the 8 ounce bag which equaled apx 1.5 cups of beads. They come in a double layer ziploc pouch.
I initially covered the beads with 2 cups of water and within 15 minutes the water was gone. I continued to add 2-4 cups of water and each time within half an hour I had to get more bowls. By the end of the day we had beads of various sizes in 4 large mixing bowls, a 4 gallon ice chest, a 5 quart crock pot, a 2 gallon ice chest and a gallon glass jug.
We decided to let them sit overnight. By the next day the vast majority of the beads were apx 1/2" in size with some being a tad under or a few being an inch. We had very few split beads and they all expanded. The blue beads seemed to grow the largest. If you place them in a glass jug, many become transparent. if some are smaller, it means you need to soak them even more.
All in all we got over 8 gallons of beads. The blue ice chest in the photo is a 4 gallon chest. We continued to run our hands through them over the course of 3 days and had no disintegration and very few expanded past their limit, causing breakage. My 4 year old granddaughter ate one and we did not have any problems from that.

Have a nice day and happy shopping -
The packaging is two layers and has a reusable seal like a Ziploc bag. This will be great for when we are done and want to save them. This also works great if you don't want to use all of them at once.
There are 12 colors in our bag. Pink, purple, blue, clear, white, black, and 2 shades of: green, orange, and yellow. Unfortunately, out of the entire package, there were barely two dozen purple beads. My daughter's favorite color is purple so we were very disappointed. I believe that the colors and amounts are random so I'm not taking a star away for that, just disappointing because she wanted to make a rainbow with them.
They do break easily if they are full size. We kept them small so they were stronger.
As they grow, they have a funky texture which was a fun for the kids. As they sat longer in the water, they rounded out and now have a smooth texture.
Overall this is a great product and I will definitely get this again. Hopefully we will get more purple next time :).
You get 8oz of the water beads which will make you a ton! Following the directions, I put two tablespoons of the water beads plus 3 quarts of water in an 8inx10in plastic Tupperware container and left it overnight. The beads had enlarged to an average marble size by the next day and the whole container was full! You do need to leave these for at least 8 hours to soak.
A couple days after sitting in the airtight container they were still full and fun to play with. They had become a little slimy, but a quick rinse through water fixed that.
The only downside is they bounce easily and if spilled scatter instantly all over. They hold up okay unless you squeeze them and then they break fairly easily. I kind of wonder if of we hadn't added as much water, so the beads would be smaller, if they would break less easily. The colors aren't incredibly vibrant but they are still obviously different colors and a fun variety.
All in all, glad we got them and have had lots of fun so far!
