They are waterproof and dare I say possibly the lightest and most comfortable pair of heavy weather boots I have owned. If you ever tried a pair of men's ugg boots you would know that they are the most comfortable things around. These boots match that feeling.
Threads are not that great, but it gets it done. They are incredibly warm and comfy.
I cannot speak highly enough about the quality of the boots and the fact that how much better they look in person compared to the pictures.
My wife had her doubts and felt they looked ugly in pictures, but when she saw them in person she was pleasantly surprised as I was. Especially the suede leather (fake leather) at the bottom where it is normally plastic with other sorel boots.
Will definitely purchase again.
I suggest an exact size or half size bigger if you have had problems with fitting in past. I wear 10-1/2 US size and had to order 11 because of availability and they fit perfectly with warm weather socks.
I normally wear a size 10 in Nike (and most other brands), and these shoes were exactly the fit I was expecting. I ordered these used from the "Warehouse Deals" on Amazon (I didn't NEED a new pair), and found them for under $30. I later found out that they sell for about $125 at retail, so I'm thrilled with the deal I got. There were no visible signs of wear and tear. They look really nice for a pair of snow boots.
CRAFTSMANSHIP: seamless where the black rubber meets the leather; and the stitching feels nice and rigid.
INSULATION: inside lining is extra padded, feels like a sleeping-bag on your foot.
WATERPROOF: the canvas portion of the shoes are coated in a waterproof sealant & appears waterproof all the way up to the 3rd lace hole.
VALUE: for a $40 buy, i'm very pleased.
