I love these boots? So why not five star rating? Mainly because I'm not completely in love with the red/orange piping on the boot (which are actually pretty subtle in real life), and I wish the sole was solid black instead of tan.
That said, what do I love? Everything else. The fit is fantastic. I got the boot in my regular dress shoe size as was suggested, and they fit perfectly. As a former gymnast, I have some massive calves (16.5" on a good day), so the wide shaft fits perfectly, allowing me to get a pair of skinny jeans AND snow boot socks in there without a super tight squeeze - in fact, it's no squeeze at all! I was looking for something stylish and functional to wear to and from the mountain on ski trips, and around town when the weather wasn't so great, and these boots perform on all those levels. I'm still waiting for a pair of Ugg liners I bought to replace the current lining, to see if it'll make it a slightly warmer boot (I still have a little room in the toe box with socks on, so hopefully that doesn't compromise the fit).
Oh, lastly, unlike other Sorels, and snow boots in general, I've tried on, despite wearing a size 9.5, my feet do not look like boats. In fact, these boots make my feet look downright dainty, so much so that I was initially apprehensive that they'd fit my feet at all.
Bottom line: these look and perform way better than they appear on the website; order your true size, and if you need a roomier boot shaft, these will fit perfectly.
