Music's hot. Hands down one of the greatest blues artists of all time. This album is finished front to back, and unlike most music these days there isn't a song on here that's "phoned-in" If you've you bought his music in the past, this will meet and exceed expectations. If you haven't bought it before, you're in for a treat. Buy it. Tell your friends. Music only get's published by buying it, and god knows the blues doesn't have the easiest road. So, the hooks, the melodies, and the power-house voice- get it in your house.

Superb soul songs, real instruments, great arrangements and one of the best voices out there. What more is there to want? Highlights are Bobby Womacks What You Gonna Do, Curtis own Love Comfort Zone, Johnny Watsons Strung Out and his own A Woman Or the Blues. Worth the price of the CD on its own however is the O'Jays Let Me Make Love To you. This album shows that real soul music is still alive and well!

Have followed Curtis Salgado since living in Portland, OR in the mid-80's.
His music picks up your soul and shakes it awake.
Soul Shot is fantastic and each time I play it I am feeling good and feel lucky to have seen him perform in Santa Cruz a month ago.
He had the foundation bumping and the crowd grooving.
A gem of an artist.

CURTIS TO UNDERGO LUNG SURGERY

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE -- JUNE 29, 2012

Award-winning soul blues singer/harmonica master Curtis Salgado will undergo surgery on July 18 in Portland, Oregon, to remove a cancerous growth from his lung, according to his manager Shane Tappendorf.

A partial lobectomy will be performed to remove a segment of Curtis's left lung where a metastasized mass was found. It is suspected to be the same type of cancerous mass that was removed from his lung in 2008.

Salgado will be hospitalized for a period of four to six days and will require a recovery time of up to four weeks. Salgado and his doctors anticipate a complete recovery.
Please pray for a speeded recovery for him

while channel surfing, i saw this Blues award show. several acts caught my attention and dropped the remote. and on comes this Librarian lookin' dude who immediately shut me up! the band was BAD. and Curtis Salgado introduced me to why the Blues is what he can do far better than a lot of folk on stages around the planet. dude got Soul with a Capital S. he can snatch up a harp and blow dat, too! next time you channel surf, make sure you stop. you might be just as pleased as i am!

Heard this guy on my Comcast Blues music channel. He's been around for quite a while... man, how could I have missed this? "what You Gonna Do?" and "She Didn't Cut Me Loose" are just crazy good! The rest, he goes into this old school thing that again is new to me. Great music.

Soul Blues is the territory where Curtis Salgado is deeply rooted. Near-to-death experience related to health issues made this addiction even stronger and exactly this is revealed on his latest release, Soul Shot.

Minimizing harmonica playing and expanding vocal lines by attracting female backing vocalists on number of songs in addition to his extraordinary singing capabilities whether it is wonderful rendition of Richard Rogers' "Gettin' To Know You" or Otis Redding's "Love Man", having main focus throughout the album on love or lack of love (which is the same) slipping in nostalgic notes ("He Played His Harmonica") creates what is expertly chosen eleven-track Soul Blues album with R&B and Gospel elements full of energy and confidence.

Excellent gift for fans of Soul Blues.

This is a terrific album with influences of soul, R & B, Blues and rock all blended uniquely together by Curtis Salgado and his outstanding band. Curtis can sing any style of music he chooses and does them all with power and emotion. I actually purchased my copy of this CD at a recent show in Boulder, Co. If Curtis and his band are coming to your town, do yourself (and the band) a favor and go to the show! I promise you, you won't be sorry. The same could be said about this CD, buy it, listen to it, love it! Tell your friends to do the same thing!
