The Soul Summoner is a gripping urban fantasy and paranormal suspense novel that is set in my hometown of Asheville, North Carolina. It is as grounded in reality as a paranormal novel can be, which keeps the characters both relatable and intriguing. It has edge-of-your-seat action and suspense as well as a juicy love triangle that will make you sweat and swoon. The Soul Summoner is the first book in the series.
After all the high praise I was expecting something better. It starts off ok in book 1, but doesn't last long before Sloan turns into a whiner and we are smacked in the face over and over and over again with how absolutely PERFECT Warren is. Over. And over. And over. And over again. After he enters the pictures there's more focus put on the so called love triangle than anything else. Which, BTW, is boring since pretty much all of them suck. Warren is perfect. Sloan is a whiner. and Nathan is a cheater. For chrissakes, just let them be poly with each other and be DONE with it.
I managed to finish the second book and the "twist" made me shake my head. Cause apparently THAT happened in the blink of an eye during the fight and she suddenly became all powerful.
Original paranormal concept that kept me glued to the book, actually three in the set, for over a week. I loved the characters and found Sloan's snarky side remarks very funny. The romance triangle was interesting and believable. The writing was professional and made me care what happened to the characters. The only bad thing (minus a star) was that, although the immediate situation was resolved, there was so much more that was not. There was not an abrupt ending but many major parts of the story are awaiting resolution in future books.
I laughed and cried. I was enthralled throughout these books. The story just keeps getting better and more interesting. This may be part of an ongoing series but each book is a self-contained story. I can't wait to read the next book of the series. You got mystery, intrigue and a love triangle happening. This is well worth your time to read and to buy. Well written and very entertaining story to read. I highly recommend reading in the order of the series but not needed to enjoy this book.
This is a fantastic series about three people.. 2 men and 1 woman. Their lives are intertwined and complicated. Sloan can tell at a glance at a picture that someone is either alive it dead. She meats a detective who's been looking for his sister for years and with her help gets closure. Then Sloan meets a military man who she can't read and is drawn to him. They become a couple but things become complicated when outside influences start to interfere. This series is a fabulous read and will keep you hanging on the edge of your seat!
Wow. Well written and surprisingly good. Fully developed characters with multifaceted personalities. Grabs you from the beginning and keeps you enthralled until the last page. Looking forward to book 4.
Very different paranormal story than I've read before. You get sucked into the story from the very start. Sloan is going through life with her best friend Adrienne and along comes Nathan, the cop who gets her to start using her powers for good. Then comes Warren into their budding romance and things get interesting very quickly. Warren has powers that come in handy on the cases and events that happen around them. The story flows well and each character added you either like it Hope they get what's coming to them. The story continues and I'll be reading it as I'm hoping Nathan has a HEA.
Great read and exciting. Sloan is a bit wishy-washy and makes reading a little frustrating, but the overall story is a good one. I will now need to read the forth book, The Taken. I usually read authors like JR ward, Jacqueline Frank, Jeaniene Frost and love them and their writing style. This was nice to read, and a cleaned up version of a lighter version of any of those authors. I think if you like the 'typical' paranormal romance, you will like these books.
Such great storytelling depicting a young and awkward female who is bold and strong yet vulnerable. Sloan is discovering her supernatural gifts, and the power of love between two men...one the love of her life...the other who holds her affections. You can expect mystery, edge of your seat excitement as Sloan discovers her powers and who she can and cannot trust to be there in her best interest. She leads with her heart and often trouble finds her. This book has it all... angels, and darkness, lover and best friend, work balance and the greatest gift any woman is blessed to have. More storytelling please!!
