Editorial Reviews

Review

" I have to say that I was really impressed with the quality of the story writing. In certain parts I found myself racing through pages to find out what would happen next. I also appreciated the spiritual insights that were sprinkled throughout the work, as well as the references to the underbelly of the so-called New World Order. Overall, I found this to be an excellent read, and as such, I most certainly recommend it." - Jeff Maziarek, author of 'Codi's Journey' and 'Spirituality Simplified'
.
"... reminiscent of a classic Indiana Jones adventure, with the requisite close shaves, Hollywood-style mysticism, and especially villainous villains." ~ KIRKUS REVIEWS

"Is it possible that a secret cartel of top ranking individuals are guilty of catastrophic greed and extreme profiteering, manipulating humanity for profit, promoting religious differences, war and chaos...? Perhaps there is more to this book than just a great read..." ~ Wayne Hersche, author of 'The Hidden Records'

"The Soul Whisperer has the potential to be a huge bestseller. In the same spiritual-adventure mold as The Da VinciCode and The Celestine Prophecy, J. M. Harrison's novel is a rich read full of 'hidden truths and unspoken possibilities'." ~Stephen Gawtry, Managing Editor, WATKINS MIND BODY SPIRIT MAGAZINE

"J.M.Harrison writes in a compelling style which draws you in to this riveting story... " ~ Claire Gillman, Editor, KINDRED SPIRIT MAGAZINE

"Such a good read, full of action, love and history. The author adds incredible detail to this story, making it so easy to visualize as you read along. The characters are well developed with clearly defined roles. This would easily translate to a movie. There were passages that were profound and touching. Good vs Evil, the French countryside, two people in love who find themselves in a life changing situation. You will enjoy this one, I promise." ~ Gayle Ferguson - GOODREADS REVIEW

I had never read anything by J. M. Harrison and he is now a favorite. I am absolutely and extremely grateful for this opportunity. I could not put this book down. I read it in three days; all 250+ pages.

I found this book very interesting and definitely entertaining. It is a great read that had me scratching my sleepy eyes and fighting much needed sleep. It also had me thirsty for more knowledge.

The setting is in France. Through this book I visited France with it's distinctive and captivating explanations of the foliage, the crystal caves, the attempted murders and the sort. I found myself switching between reading the book and my browser to research any truths; Christianity, Gnosticism, historical dates, paganism, ancient relics and plenty more.

This book reminded me of Dan Brown's The Da Vinci Code only with a more spiritual aspect. The author definitely had me discussing historical facts with friends and thoroughly engaged.

As a matter of fact, I still want to know more. I'm left questioning whether the earth is really in need of total world catastrophe in order for humankind to ascend to the next dimension and remember that we are indeed conscious beings. Still I'm left wondering whether such an event would indeed remind us that we have great spiritual powers and that we can live in harmony with the earth and all it's inhabitants.

In spite of this being a fictional novel, it is full of mystery and suspense. I was fully aware that tidbits of historical facts were intertwined with fiction; well not fully.

I'd have to say that this is a must read. I can fully envision "The Soul Whisperer" becoming a mega box office hit.

The Soul Whisperer: J. M. Harrison

Sometimes opportunities are afforded to us thinking that they will better our lives when in truth it might change it and gear us in directions or paths that we would ordinarily never travel down. Alex and Sara are a happily married young couple dealing with financial stress and hoping for a way to finally live debt free. A change getaway in Europe sets the stage for something out of our realm and a hunt for a mystical relic that will change Sara and Alex as both experience different events before agreeing to this vacation. Sara is pregnant and deals with the loss of twins that she miscarries as Alex has seizures and loses his mother to cancer. Offering what she considers a viable solution to their strife and hoping to create a spark of joy and happiness, Lucette. Alex’s grandmother offers to send them to France to the country to enjoy life. In return she wants them to make sure they acknowledge and visit her old friend Jean-Michel while there. Simple enough so it seems. Two people are keeping taps on both Sara and Alex hoping to learn more about a treasure that Jean-Michel has buried and hopes to find. Keeping tabs on them and Jean-Michel who they work for makes it easy for them to learn more about what they are doing as the author relates through them to Jean-Michel the odd occurrences that happened to both Sara at the church and Alex.
Jean Michel relates to both Sara and Alex the history behind why he wants them there and how he came to be the guardian of a golden shell stone. Taking them deep inside his confidence and explaining that they would now take their turn as the golden shell’s new guardian hoping to save the world and humanity.

Alex and Sara Brunton were hoping a change of scene would help them recover from the blow of a miscarriage. The couple takes off for a trip to France to visit a relative, but instead of tranquil days and starry nights, they are pulled into a web of intrigue that has brought about ruin and death for a millennium. The two quickly become the targets of a group fanatically determined to stop them from revealing what they've found about a mysterious artifact. With the help of a local sage, they draw closer and closer to the truth...and to danger. Hairsbreadth escapes, double crosses and strong action sequences feature prominently in The Soul Whisperer, as does a undercurrent of spirituality. This is an exciting, rousing read.

Having recently read another of this author’s books (YOU are THIS), I was looking forward to reading this title as well. I was drawn to this work after reading about it on Amazon.com, particularly since one of the editorial reviews compared it to The Da Vinci Code and the Celestine Prophecy, both of which I really enjoyed. While the author is not yet an established fiction writer, I have to say that I was really impressed with the quality of the story writing. In certain parts I found myself racing through pages to find out what would happen next. I also appreciated the spiritual insights that were sprinkled throughout the work, as well as the references to the underbelly of the so-called New World Order. I received this book from the author in exchange for an honest review. Really a 4.5, wish we could do halves. I enjoyed reading my first book by this author. The book was very good overall. One or two chapters took me a bit to get through because of the long, drawn out explanation of how the shell came out and how it ended up in Alex and Sara's life but it was worth getting through. The ending was surprising and I see how the book ends with society in the state it is left. This book will really make you think and wonder if it is the direction we are going. You need to read this book.
