New Challenges Await
Pam faces new challenges with glamour and poise, while Sandra doesn't disappoint, and Lisa discovers new strengths. Shattering events transpire on what should have been Pam's happy wedding day, (and again shortly afterwards), leaving her bereft and lonely with her grief once more. To top it all, Pam's daughter Lisa seems to have inherited her Mom's poor judgement when it comes to getting an HEA. You'll feel hope and disappointment, love and loss, happiness and sorrow, excitement and devastation in varying levels throughout this great tale of Pam of Babylon's next stage in life as Life lifts her up only for Love to bring her a roller-coaster of ups and downs that will have you gripped from the very first page.
"Women's fiction with a touch of noir."

Just a week later she met a man called John, who did her kitchen renovations. She realised Jason had actually done her a huge favour. John was so loving towards her. They began to see each other.
Pam kept having flashbacks, remembering the shocking betrayals in her previous life.
Her own dearest sister, Marie, had had a sexual relationship with Jack, her ex-husband, for 30 years, before going blind and dying horribly. Now Pam was helping to raise Marie's little daughter, who had overheard talk and was starting to ask questions.
Jason suffered a boating accident, just a week after jilting Pam, resulting in the death of his drug-addict son, Aaron, and sending him into a coma for a few days. When he came around, he was disgruntled that Pam was not at his bedside, having suffered short-term memory loss and forgetting he had jilted her.
Lisa was Pam's daughter.
She too was suffering betrayal after betrayal.
Dan was Lisa's husband. Lisa knew he was up to something and had hired a private detective to find out what he was doing.
Dan was totally incapable of marital faithfulness. He had had an extra-marital affair with Carla, who had hit him over the head with a frying pan when she had discovered he was two-timing. She was convicted of assault and jailed, losing her baby, her home, her career, and her income.
Baby Dan was raised by Dan's wife, who breastfed him, together with her own baby, while raising Marie's daughter and a fourth baby.
Lisa was Pam's betrayed daugter. When Carla was released from jail, Lisa helped her, despite her being inpregnated by Dan.
I really liked the very complicated story but was sad that John, Pam's really loving new partner, was still supporting his own problem daughter, who was not happy about her father's new love.
Pam and John deserved to enjoy their love without further betrayal and treachery, but I see another horrible story coming before they can celebrate their love.

The story starts out with a bang, with a description of a wedding that's going to take place and just catapults from there. This book also has one of the wonderful Suzanne Jenkins' 'gotcha' endings! Just love it and I would give this book ten stars, but they only allow five, oh well. What a great escape!
