SOULS UNFRACTURED BY Tillie Cole
Souls Unfractured I would say is probably my favourite book so far for this series but only by a little as I love all these books, but there is just something so special with Flame and Maddi that you can't help but love these two.
Flame for me would have to be the most interesting character that I have ever read. In the first two books he was so interesting and I think he just had you guessing and intrigued about his life and what's happened in his past and why he does certain things. I was too excited to read this book and it didn't disappoint.
Throughout this book I just really felt sad so sad for what Flame and Maddi went through. Even though I loved this book so much I just felt so sad. A few times listening to this I did feel sick and wanted the violence to stop but that is what makes these books and it's not for the faint hearted. There wasn't as much drama or action in this book but that's what I loved just learning about these two characters is what was needed.
Maddi was the shyest of these sister and in the first two books she was pretty quiet, we knew she had suffered more than the other two girls physically and learning more about the commune was heartbreaking and you felt heartbreak for Maddi she was a beautiful character and Flame just brought so much more of her out. She started to grow and learn about love and life and it was such a pleasure to grow with her.
What a special character Flame is and I love everything about him, Styx will always be my favourite in this series but you can see why Flame is a fan favourite. Since the day he was born Flame was ridiculed and was told he was retarted and was a sinner, he was also abused and treated inhumanly and it was hard to read/listen to these scenes. It really upset me and made me feel sad , but finally understanding the way Flame is and why he does a lot of stuff just all made sense and really it really made me fall in love with him.
These two characters were so perfect together and the way there stories were told Tillie Cole did a perfect job. As I said there wasn't too much action but Christ was this a page turner of secrets and of course we get those few chapters to see what's happening at the commune.
Can't wait to listen to Deep Redemption and see what happens to the commune.
This book deserves so much more than 5 stars but that's all I can give. This is my favourite series and if you haven't started it and you like a dark romance then this baby is for you.

Brief Summary of the Storyline: This is a tough one to summarize without giving it away, so I'll keep it really short...This is Maddie and Flame's story. Maddie has been saved by the Hades Hangmen MC from a religious cult. Flame is an extremely damaged and misunderstood member of the mc. When Maddie is rescued, they are instantly connected. This is their story about getting past extremely traumatic pasts and finding happiness and comfort in each other.
POV: This alternated between Maddie and Flame's POV.
Overall Pace of Story: Good. I never skimmed and I thought it flowed well.
Instalove: Kind of. They don't realize that it is love, but they connect instantly. It's not the kind that annoys me though ;)
H rating: 4 stars. Flame. His story was so incredibly sad that you couldn't help but care for him. With a child on the autism spectrum that doesn't fully understand emotions, I think his issues hit really close to home for me.
h rating: 4 stars. Maddie. I liked her. She was so sweet and loving towards Flame.
Sadness level: Low/moderate. I personally didn't cry, but it covered some really intense scenes and subjects that might make some readers.
Push/Pull: Not really.
Heat level: Low. They are both extremely damaged when it comes to sex, so they take a while to become intimate and it's more about their progress and love than the physical act.
Descriptive sex: Yes
Safe sex: Not really. I don't remember mention of condoms, std status, or other birth control (and H and h are together for the first time by choice).
OW/OM drama: No, only past demons.
Sex scene with OW or OM: No
Closure: This had decent closure. These 2 were obviously meant to be, so I would call it a HEA (even though I would've loved a jump ahead epilogue ;D).
How I got it: I paid the $0.99 for it on amazon.
First, I love the hangmen series, second, I love Ms Cole's writing style, and lastly and more importantly to me is I was over the moon that you gave Flame an amazing, kind, sympathetic, and beautiful love interest...Maddie.
As a mother of an amazing, beautiful inside an out boy with autism, I must say thank you for your depiction of Flame and his inner voice....I think you nailed it. My heartbreaks for all the children, women and men who are hurt the way Flame and Maddie were, but with Flame having the added issues autism brings, all I did was cry for him and then go hug son to which I was told..."OK, that's enough mom!" after a few scenes...(lol tough tooties kiddo I'm your mom and you just have to deal😁)
I also love having AK and Vik to look out and love him in their own way, especially AK I could hug him for that alone! Also the rest of the hangmen accepted him and though they thought he was psycho...he was their psycho! I can't tell you how this story and series made me so happy even when I was anything but reading the horrors happening to Flame and the girls, because Ms Cole, I don't know if you realize what an impact on acceptance and empathy for people with ASD this book and series had...at least to me...for that I'm greatful and excited to share these books with others....bless you! (((((Big Hugs))))
