>This book is the first in the Chronicles of the Demon Hunter series and ends in a cliffhanger. All of the celestial beings are present in this book from Angels and human helpers to the Devil and the Grim Reaper. Adrian and his brothers make a deal with the devil and must do whatever the Devil wants in order to cure their sick dad. When the Devil wants Adrian to kill an innocent girl, Willow, he tries to break the oath.
>Willow has hidden powers she never knew about and the Devil, Eae, the angel, and a group of Protectors all want her. Adrian falls for Willow and sacrifices his family for her safety. This book has a lot of twists and turns. Characters pop up that aren’t explained all that well, such as Trip and his minion and the Protectors. These protectors are supposedly everywhere with all sorts of powers, yet they never appear to help in the second half of the book at all. Actually a lot of the book is Adrian and Eae searching for Willow or Willow and Eae searching for Adrian.
>Some Angels are even portrayed as the bad guys, while the Devil shows compassion at a certain point towards his brother, Eae. The idea that the angels need humans to help save souls is a strange one. I wish more was explained about that. The basics of this book are interesting. The characters are easy to get to know and compelling, but the racing, running and searching was a bit long winded.
>This book is appropriate for a young adult (16+) to adult audience. There are no sexual situations or extreme violence. I am giving the book 4 hearts. I am a reviewer for Romance Authors that Rock.
This is an action packed book with plenty of twists and turns. It has a little bit of everything for everybody – angels, devil, monsters, and death it's self the Grim Reaper. Eae is an angel 2,000 years into helping free souls the devil has tricked into making a compact with him. He's been without an assistant to help him. The ultimatum is given to him to return to heaven or find an assistant.
Arian along with his brothers traded their souls for their sick father. Their fine with their roles until their asked to kill a girl. The guys don't want to do it but they know that they'll be punished if they don's. However fate has plans for the girl Willow that Adrian and his brothers are supposed to kill. Love snuck in and luckily Eae wants to help break Adrian's deal with the devil. Adrian's payment for his release is that he becomes Eae's new assistant.
The book has a steady pace throughout the book. With all the characters you can get confused a little until you really get into the book. This book will easily hold your attention and your imagination.
Eae Morningstar has been working to protect humans on Earth from demons and the Devil for over two thousand years. Eae's been given a year to find a new assistance or return to Heaven without delay. Eae's new assistant is Adrian Ward that made a deal to save his father's life. But he can live with doing all of these evil things any more no matter what his brother's say or do to him. Adrian slips into the work that Eae does seamlessly until he meets Willow Robinson. Both Willow and Adrian are caught between a rock and a hard place that neither of them can do about it. Can Eae continue his work? Will Adrian be able to face his brothers? What's so special about Willow? Your answers await you in A Soul's Worth.
This fascinating book appealed to both the fantasy lover in me and paranormal world. The characters and story were fascinating, complex, flawed, honest, real, raw, honest, down to earth, compelling, rich, bold, meaningful, and thought provoking too. I'm definitely more interested in this series to see where it will go in the future.
