"Sound Advice by L.B. Dunbar is a refreshing love story with a healthy dose of good manners and warm fuzzies." - Willow Aster, USA Today Bestseller, author of Maybe Maby

About the Author

L.B. Dunbar loves to read to the point it might be classified as an addiction. The past few years especially she has relished the many fabulous YA authors, the new genre of New Adult, traditional romances and historical romances. A romantic at heart, she's been accused of having an overactive imagination, as if that was a bad thing. When not reading, she's usually driving one of her four growing children somewhere. She grew up in Michigan, but has lived in Chicago for longer, calling it home with her husband and children.

A charming romance between sexy, brooding single dad Jess Carter from small town Elk Rapids and Emily Post, a young professional from Chicago. Their relationship is tense, confusing, hot, and tortured...which equate to intoxicating reading! Just as captivating is the story of Katie Carter, Jess's young daughter. L B Dunbar has created the most adorable little girl with a touching and heartbreaking story. Katie's story will stay with you and will compel you to reach through the pages and hug her. Grab the Kleenex box and enjoy!

This is one of my top favs for 2014.....LB Dunbar has created a story with characters you just fall in love with, Although having said that I wanted to slap Jess Carter a time or two but by the end I was totally smitten for him. My advice...do not pass up this book! Add it to your list and start it asap! It will leave you with a cozy heart and a lasting smile!

WHY OH WHY DID IT TAKE ME SO LONG TO READ THIS BOOK!!!!!!
I feel awful that I have had Sound Advice on my kindle for a while and just now getting to it. I loved it. How can you no fall in love with Jess. (where do I get one?) His sweet little princess Katie and Emily who is just too sweet and polite. I loved them all and all the side characters. (right now I'm taking a break from readin the second book in the Sensations Collections to type this up, so my mind is a all over the place) Its amazing that this is a debut novel, its so well written and oh just an amazing book. If your reading this you are already interested in this book so just get it and read it. You will be like me in the end asking yourself why you didn't get to it sooner.

What an incredibly beautiful story! This story was even better for me as I'm from Northern Michigan and could picture the places mentioned in this story. Well written and a pleasure to read. I cannot wait to read the next book in this series!

I got to interact with the author of this book on fb through a blog takeover. I fell in love with questions she asked. I was intrigued and rushed to get this book, little did I know I would need lots of tissues. So guys be warned you might need them. There where scenes that had me bawling 😭like crazy but for bittersweet memories. This author made me feel every emotion, nuances, and frustrations that Emily faced. I she'd tears with her, fell in love with her, got frustrating with her, and laughed with her. She drew me in and won me over. Heck, I am still crying just thinking about moments in the book.

Then we have the opposite hero. Jess was a total gentleman, but mean at first. He won me over regardless of the long hair. Lol. Ladies Jon me in thus trip of meeting a single dad that had to deal with circumstances out of his control. You will grow to admire this man, feel for him, be annoyed with him, and wish he would stop confusing us. Oh, and he is so romantic and passionate. Definitely swoon worthy moments.

But the two characters that helped create this story and make what it is are nana and Katie. You will love them, sigh over the situations, find yourself on edge wondering what will happened next. Oh and I love the touch of the etiquette references that nana provided. I enjoyed how the author incorporated the as part of the chapters, a leading path.

I am glad I picked it up, and read it. Something drew me to this book. Hope you guys enjoy it as well. 😊

By the end of chapter 1, I was so emotionally invested, I couldn't put this book down. L.B. Dunbar had my stomach in knots, my heart thumping out of my chest, and my interest quickly. I kept telling myself that I would read one more chapter and then go to sleep. It didn't happen. I had to find out what happened next.
Jess is absolutely my dream guy right now. I'm telling you, I'm totally jealous of Emily!!
I can't wait for the next book in this series!

Emily returns to her grandmothers home in a little town after receiving a worried phone call. She was only supposed to stay for a few days, long enough to get things straightened out when she finds herself having to stay longer. Emily got a lot more than she bargained for, she never expected a man like Jess to step into her life and turn it upside down.

I'm a mess, Sound Advice for me was a big emotional rollercoaster. It had so much depth, mixed with many emotions I felt right down to my bones. It just sucks you in until you feel everything the characters do. The writing was great and the storyline was creative. A real life fairy tale. If you like fairy tales and happily ever afters you'll love this one.

I don't want to go into too much detail as the littles thing could spoil it and I really don't want to do that. You need to be able to experience the whole book without knowing anything going in. I think that's part of why I enjoyed it so much, I didn't know what to expect. I didn't read any reviews before reading it and I'm glad as think it would have spoiled it for me.

All the characters were lovable. They were easy to like and all gave something to the story, they were all important. When so many different characters are involved sometimes it's hard to feel connected but you do, with each and every one.

Favourites, Katie was definitely my fav, I couldn't help but fall in love with her. I liked Sue Carpenter too, she was a big help to Emily and just a generally nice person. Jess Carter was swoon worthy but moody as hell which of course made it more fun.

Sound Advice is a story of love, power, happiness, grief and magic. If you read romance you'll love this. I wish there was more to it, especially towards the end. I wasn't ready to let Emily and Jess go.
