Update- One week after:
Left ear began dropping signals during playback.
Returning the device.
Update 2- Anker reached out to me and offered me to try out their improved version. The product was not perfect, but I find myself using it on a daily basis. At the end of the day, I am impressed by their customer service, who work with me throughout these weeks to improve their product.
Granted, bluetooth devices usually will have some delay. However, these earbuds seems to have more delay compared to other bluetooth earbuds I've used in the past (approx. 200ms to 300ms more at ~400ms to 500ms, compared to the typical ~200ms). For the sake of neutrality, I will not list them here.
Overall, because of the price to utility, this product is only 3 star. If the price matches it's use case (i.e. only non-video), then this is a 5 star product.
As some have mentioned in other reviews, the touch sensor on this product is not always accurate. That is, it takes a couple of tries for it to register. So this is another downside, but not the main critique of this review.
UPDATE 2018-12-10:
So I've taken these earbuds on walks and runs, and they don't really come loose, which is a good thing. Regarding battery life, I've only used them for around 3 hours non-continuously, so I can't confirm on the 20 hours. That said, the 3 lights on the case are always full when I take them out the next time. So if not 20 hours, definitely at least 10 (with the case recharge applied).
Using these for the past week or so, I've noticed that the earbuds to sometimes not connect properly, or sometimes does not disconnect properly. For example, if you open the case and close it back up immediately, the earbuds will activate, and will not disconnect. What you need to do is remove them from the case, and then put them back in for them to turn off. Similarly, if they do not connect when you take them out, you will need to put them back into the case and try again. These are a couple of annoyances that happens once in a while, and you need to keep them in mind.
Regarding the delay, I have confirmed with Soundcore/Anker that they are expected. The reality is that, although a 500ms to 600ms is bad, a 200ms delay is already unsuitable for gaming and videos without timing logic anyway. So it won't really make a different either way. That said, their customer support definitely responds promptly and care about customer's experience with their product.
In summary, here are the cons:
- 200ms to 300ms more delay compared to other bluetooth products
- touch sensor is not very good
- sometimes does not properly connect or disconnect
Overall, I'm upgrading this review to 3.5 stars. Since you can't give fractional ratings, I will put it as a 4.
Too soon to discuss the battery, but I have not had any issues day 1, they earbuds are still almost fully charged, and my case still has the 2 bars of battery it came charged with. I have an android phone and the buttons work very well for my Galaxy 8, tapping the earbuds takes a min to get used to but only requires a light touch. It brings up my Google commands well and I was able to locate a contact and call from the earbuds with ease. I had tried some airpods and the controls for android just dont work.

The Earpods are made of Glossy Plastics while the Magnetic case is made of a Matte Black Plastic. Would've loved to have the Earpods in a matte finish too as the Glossy feel makes it seem very cheap.
Take note of the Glossy Earpods as they do attract fingerprints especially with the touch controls being on them.
The Soundcore Logo is an eye sore but as the Liberty Airs become known, Anker will remove the branding to give a more sophisticated minimalistic look.
They are IPX5 which would handle your sweat at the gym and mild drizzle as I recently found. You'll be fine with these.
They do cut out a lot of sound but does not have a seperate Noise Cancelling feature. I have found using them on the underground an absolute marvel as they cut the right sound out. I'd love Anker to make some Memory Foam eartips as they will make these perfect.
CONNECTIVITY
The Liberty Air goes into pairing/ connects as soon as you pull them out of the case. Sometimes you ight have lost connections buts simple as putting them back into the case and pulling them out.
Multi-Device use is possible. You have to manually disconnect on one device and connect on the other. It doesn't support Active Dual Sync but then again you don't need it.
Pause/ Play is double tap and the Skip Forward/ Back is simply too tedious to get it to work as you have to hold for 2 seconds and swipe forward or back. It does take some using to but plausible as I have found.
The left earpod activates the Google Assistant. Take special note when you put your earpods on as it might accidently turn on but its an simple as pressing back.
MOST IMPORTANTLY : They stay on. I have travelled a solid 2 hours with them on and they did not budge. I'll be trying them out soon on a flight and update.
BATTERY LIFE
With Bluetooth 5.0 you get good battery life. On Low to Medium volume you'll easily get around 4 hours and at medium 3 hours and on high 2 hours or less.
The case will give you 3 full charge. There are some inconsistencies with the case and Anker has been informed for a replacement but it's probably just mine. Buy and Try it yourself for that personal touch
SOUND QUALITY
Can’t fault the sound quality. The sound is very collective and hits the right notes . The bass is quite low but you won’t notice it until you hear bass heavy music.
Not fit for gaming especially the likes of PUBG where I couldn’t hear footsteps. This is not it's intended use so not a problem.
OVERALL
A truly great alternative to all the other players like Huawei, Sony, Bose, Apple etc. I'd love to see the US pricing applied here but then again it's the VAT and Import Taxes of Britain that adds to the price. So can't blame Anker for this.
ADVICE to ANKER for 2.0
Foam Eartips are a must. Would serious make these truly noise cancelling.

ADVICE to ANKER for 2.0
Foam Eartips are a must. Would serious make these truly noise cancelling.

These anker earbuds takes everything AirPods did, but adds key elements to make it better.
- They're in-ear: these actually fit and stay in my ears. They're not the most snug, like my Tranya earbuds, but they're pretty solid. I have to use the largest size. I must also note that you might not be able to use comply tips as it may not fit the case well. The tips that come with these earbuds sit close to the earbud itself. I could be wrong and there could be a version of comply tips that do work, but from what I've seen and heard, it doesn't fit.
- The mic is really good, and the important part is the fact you can hear the person you're talking to through BOTH earbuds. Most earbuds on Amazon, whether a random brand or a popular brand will only allow you to ear the person you're speaking with in one ear only
- Connectivity is instant, like AirPods. After you pair once via bluetooth, they connect automatically. I like how it it doesn't speak in the earbuds, saying "left channel connected, right channel connected", etc. Some other pairs do that, but these don't. They nailed it for connectivity.
- Sound quality: They're really damn good and don't sound cheap at all. I've tested other brands and these are probably my favourite sounding earbuds. The bass is there, but not too heavy. The mids and highs also sound great. Overall a good balance
- Price: Fair price, reputable brand. Anker makes excellent products and is well known on Amazon
Things Anker should change for future versions / Wishlist:
- USB C: This is becoming the standard and USB C would be an amazing addition. I get really tired of seeing microUSB now.
- Wireless charging: This would be amazing. Even if you charged a "pro" version where it was USB C + Wireless charging and included a power brick for a bit more in cost, people would pay for it.
- Matte black to stop fingerprints
- pause music when removing the earbuds, resume when putting them back in ears. AIrpods does this via a sensor
- swipe gestures for controlling volume
*** Overall Summary ***
I highly recommend these as they're very affordable compared to other brands, and I've tested many others - these stand out as a top overall performer !

The case is nothing short of amazing (and feels darn cool) and the rated battery life is matched or even exceeded in real life. The buds are very comfortable and stay in your ears surprisingly well. Technologically, this product is mind-blowingly good considering it is competing against more expensive and yet more troublesome devices. It just works surprisingly well, and they deserve all the praise in the world for this.
That said, it is very easy to forget that they are still just wireless headphones. Especially when reading the reviews praising sound quality, I was completely disconnected from the fact that nobody actually ever compared them to standard earbuds. Now I know why. If you're used to headphones that are provided with an average smartphone, these will be right in line or slightly better. If you've ever purchased decent >$50 cable earbuds to use with your phone, not to mention actual $100 earbuds, you will be confused and disappointed if you actually expected the praised sound quality.
Apparently, these earbuds compare really well to other wireless models. I was unaware how much worse wireless earbuds are compared to their wired counterparts. The reviewers praising the sound quality didn't help, so I wanted to make it clear for any prospective buyers - they are not audiophile-grade products. The price of these headphones goes largely into making them a really polished and trouble-free gadget. The batteries, the charging station, connectivity, the fit of the earbuds - they are all flawless and I can't imagine wanting anything else - they just work. The sound quality, however, is rather flat and akin to listening to fairly low bitrate MP3s on earbuds that you'd typically get included with a flagship smartphone. I was told that it's a standard that I should have been expecting when getting wireless earbuds, as even much more expensive ones sound hardly much better than that.
The reviews praising good sound quality are totally correct if your point of reference is somewhere between other wireless earbuds or Apple Earpods, and something you'd get with the Galaxy S8/S9 (the Samsung provided AKG-tuned headphones actually sound better than these). Considering I expected more after seeing the good reviews, I was disappointed. Then I realized that the Airpods are just wireless $20 Earpods, and that's a problem with the sound quality of all wireless headphones. You are really paying for the convenience, for the excellently engineered wireless earbuds that just work really well and with batteries that last a really long time. I think the Anker offering is simply unmatched in its category, as long as you aren't expecting them to sound like good wired earbuds.

1) Very good sound quality
2) Adequate bass for movie n music (no lag while watching movie on mobile)
3) Amazing battery life once charged the case can go upto 2 to 3 days
4) Fits well on ears
5) Once paired connects automatically when you pull out the pods from charger case (right one is the main) just keep the Bluetooth on, no need to pair again.
6) very light while you wear
7) both Pods can be used for calls but the right one must be out of charger or just use the right ear pod for calls.
8) looks beautiful and stylish while you wear and even the charger case is small to carry in your pocket
9) quick charge. Just an hour charge is enough for 2 to 3 days.
10) last but not least good amount of noise cancellation though it is not specified.
----ve
1) Mic is too poor specially in crowded or noisy place or even in open place but works fine in closed rooms or else you must practice to talk loud.
2) Though the pods fit well but you get ear pain if you use it for longer time.
3) stylish but both the ear pods and the charger case is slippery, need to be careful.
4) micro usb charging only but that's not a problem at all as they provide usb cable.
5) sometime you get call connectivity or lag issues but it connects well most of the time
6) buttons are big minus as it doesn't work fine with a touch
Overall it's a great true wireless earpod for movie and music lovers, you can surely buy this if you don't mind poor mic (only in open area) and ear pain issue..
Thanks
