When I first heard about this speaker back in May, I couldn't find it anywhere. I went to four different Target Store locations in the Chicago area (the only place selling it at the time), and they were all sold out. However, I was able to do side-by-side sound tests with both the Soundfreaq Sound Kick and the Bose Soundlink (my other potential choice at the time). I'm 100% convinced that I would pick the Soundfreaq Sound Kick in a blind test every single time. And, at the time, it was marked at 1/3rd of the cost of the Bose (the Sound Kick is slightly more expensive now, but worth every cent and then some).
I was set to leave the country (permanently) within a week and somewhat discouraged that I wouldn't be able to bring a Sound Kick with me. So, taking a shot in the dark, I decided to email the company to see if they knew where I might be able to get one close by (and described my situation and VERY limited time). They emailed back almost immediately, and said they'd see if they could find one around the office and would send via FedEx just as soon as I replied!Read more ›

So for the price of less than $100 this unit blows away the competition in that price range. I used it for a week and almost kept it, but my desire to blow out my ear drums won out. Don't get me wrong, this unit kicks out pretty good for it's size and price point though!!
I have purchased three bluetooth speakers over the past year for two different people and lastly, myself. The first two times I opted for the original Logitech Boom Box. The LBB is loud, has wonderful bass, and decent battery life. It easily compares (if not surpasses) the Bose Soundlink and every other unit I tested in the store. Especially at 1/3 of the price. These units were to be used as primary speaker systems for the two people they were purchased for, and would not be moved around much. The LBB is pretty large.
I had heard the Sound Kick at a store one day, and was VERY impressed with the sound coming out of such a small device! I happened across a used one online and immediately grabbed it for my office. This speaker is AMAZING. It has bass you would expect to be coming out of a MUCH larger device. The overall sound is great for my eclectic listening choices, including Dub step, Jazz, Hip Hop and Rock. It sounds great at a normal listening volume, and even better when cranked up to 11! It gets REALLY LOUD! Like, hear it 200 feet away in another office with my office door closed loud!Read more ›
Picked them up and they were completely fine. You can play when its plugged in and btw they are louder when you do this. You can charge anything with a usb port through it. You can play anything through it that has a 3.5mm jack...ipod nano and so forth.
The sound it amazing for such a small profile. Highs are crisp and not too bright and the lows/bass is unmatched in anything with the same size package.
Now the actual reason I finally wrote a review after 2 yrs. Had a party after our wedding...had a bondfire so we had the soundfreq outside. That was a Sat. night. I went to bed leaving 2 knuckle heads in charge. They left much later in the night. Next day look outside and the wife and I said we'll clean that tomorrow.
It rained for 2 straight days. We are cleaning inside and I come across the Soundfreq charger and gasped...we left it outside in the rain. As I said it rained for 2 days. The 2 guys in charge left it on a camping chair. So it was in a puddle completely submerged.
Thought for certain it was done for. Brought it in and let it dry for a day. Plugged it in and works just as well as day one. It does not say waterproof, nor would I leave it in the rain on purpose. However after 2 days in the rain and in a puddle completely submerged it works just as it did on day one.
I will for the rest of my life buy a soundfreaq when I need bluetooth speakers.Read more ›
