SoCalDreamin said it very well. "They've got their groove back." "Man of the World" was probably not their best album and this one gets them back to their roots of "Fly Between Falls" and "Roses and Clover". Every song is listenable and likeable on this album. Very refreshing considering I will be seeing them live in less than a week. Thanks ALO, confidence has been restored that you continue to move in the right direction.

I love hearing groups evolve. This album hearkens back to the smooth open sound of Roses and Clover, but with deeper more tightly woven layers of complexity than ever before. Basically listening to this album = dancing. And that is a very good thing.

Celebrating 20-years of musical storytelling, ALO is one of the great jam bands--impressionistic yet intelligently creative; groovy and danceable; humorous; able to stand alongside the likes of Phish and the Grateful Dead.

IMHO, "Sounds Like This" is certainly their best album yet, opening with what I perceive a tribute: Dead Still Dance. Upon hearing it I immediately wanted to drop my iPad, raise my arms and dance.

Zach is one of the great storytellers; Cowboys and Chorus Girls is such a tale and begins with a long introduction like a Sergio Leone movie or Steven King's "Gunslinger." The feeling of the old west is there, created by Lebo's reverberating A and E-strings, and I felt myself ambling, with an empty canteen, horseback along a southwestern desert valley surrounded by clear skies, purple sage and rattlesnakes.

Storms and Hurricanes, Reviews (from here to Zed), and Blow out the Walls are my other favorites. Each features the classical pop training of these fine musicians, Zach, Lebo, Steve and Brogan. Together they have produced this album for us jammed with soul and aliveness, enough to blow out the walls!

They keep getting better. Just when you think they have done it all - you get a topper. An immensely rewarding recording. All knell down to the keyboard wizard Zach, all applaud the drum engine that could Dave, guitar player with an electrified soul Danny, and the hardest working bass player in show business Steve. Thanks for your gift of music. The dead still dance in my dreams tonight! Just an awesome CD!

This ALO CD is amazing!!!! I have followed Zach Gill and the band for years, and saw them live in Fort Worth in 2012. I couldnt wait to hear those tunes on CD, and here it is. If I had the money, I would buy this CD for every music lover in America, and then offer to buy them back from people who didnt like it. Yes, it is that good, but in todays world, there is so much music out there, it will be ignored except for the ardent fans. Their style is eclectic and includes a conglomeration on many components, and is hard to pigeon hole. (thus the title) I listen to a ton of music, and this is about the best of the bunch in the last year. Give it two spins and see!

I had almost given up on ALO putting out an album as good as or better than Time Expander so I was truly impressed when I listened to Sounds Like This for the first time. It's been the mainstay in my car cd changer since it arrived which is saying a lot since I usually give their new albums only one full listen before returning to copies of their live shows. Whether you are an old school fan of ALO or a relatively new fan, this album is a must have for your collection.

ALO just keeps getting better! Their funky brand of jazz-inspired bluesy rock is addictive and this album is the best yet. I have this on CD and Vinyl. The 2-disk vinyl copy did show up significantly warped, but seems to play fine.

This CD is great. It is the first ALO CD that I have so I can't compare it to their others, but I love this one. Very funky beats and catchy music. I love music and I'm really glad I picked up this CD.
