Though I took my time and had a wiring diagram for reference, I think I could have done it without the wiring diagram. The main problem I had was that after I attached the GPS Tracker to power, the LED light remained a solid red. This indicates no cellphone connectivity. After I moved the GSM antenna and attached it to the top center of the windshield (removed plastic panel between passenger side door and front windshield and sun shade and ran wire behind head liner) the LED light started to blink red and then it would receive text messages. It was good to go. Don't forget to activate sleep mode to have it lower power consumption when parked for extended periods of time (sleep+password+space+on). That feature is off by default. I did not purchase/install siren (though I may do so at a later time) or shock sensor.
I purchased a H20 SIM card for one penny at the time I got the GPS Tracker. I went online and set up an account and put $10 down for 90 days/200 minutes/200 text msgs but had difficulty activating it online. I then called their 800 number and activated rather easily that way.
Now have peace of mind concerning the whereabouts of my truck. That is worth the $40 for equipment and $40/yr for cellphone service. My truck is parked in the drive way, whereas my other vehicle are in the garage.
Them I try a h2o card as others have used well it rides the Att service who guess what is ending their 2g this month January 2017
T-Mobile still has 2g network but at this point I have a $30 GPS that has been a pain in my ass, I still do not know of it works, I bought on Amazon w prime shipping but they want $7-8 to return it , wtf?!
Then I have spent another $30 on sim cards and service I can't use and really don't want to spend any more .
T-Mobile is still running their 2g network so you have them but they don't guarantee how long, some places are sunsetting 2g & 3g by 2020 so 3 years of service that's it... Think about before you purchase
LED will flash once after about a minute of being turned on and that's it. No additional flashes, never changes color to green. Both antenna's hooked up, red and black wires connected to 12v Power wheels battery. I gave it a full five minutes of being hooked up to battery outside with antennas having clear view of sky and no change.
Ultimately, I wanted to attach this to my riding mower (as the previous one was stolen.) which has a 12v battery to start it but cannot get it working. If I cannot get it working today, I will be returning it and getting a different one.
First basic text commands (default password)
begin123456 / reply begin ok
2. change password
password123456 new password xxxxxx / reply password ok
3.Add Admin #
admin123456 xxxxxxxxxx (x's are your cell number) / reply admin ok
There are many more commands you can send to change from monitor to tracking status, log data , send multiple updates at a regular interval, etc. The "monitor" function seems to refer to the microphone that is included to eavesdrop around the unit.
After all that, I found it was easy to use. Provided a plethora of info on speed, location, etc. It made it easy to know she was safe - and, if the van ever got stolen we could find it asap.

OMG wires everywhere when all you really need is red and black; the RIGHT red and black. Then don't waste your time with the H2o sim card recommended below because it doesn't work in Canada - being that this item is sold by a Canadian company you think they'd know what company to tell you to use? OH, wait:
After purchasing yet another sim card from London Bungs I just had to sign a two-year contract with Telus for $10 a month only to find the IME # (from this unit) isn't accepted on Telus' network. Went to cancel and you guessed it, I can't cancel. Now I have to wait for a callback tomorrow to waste some MORE of my time. THANKS!
Otherwise than the run-around and way too many in/outputs it seems pretty big considering what it does. We've been seeing pager-sized "trackers" in TV and movies since the 60's. If my vehicle gets stolen I'd like to know where it went, simple as that; I'd just like to find it unlike my girlfriends Jeep which was stolen on Christmas from in front of our house in Maple Ridge; the culprit then drove over TWO videotaped toll bridges before dumping it literally blocks from where it was stolen. Cops did nothing, insurance company destroyed yet ANOTHER perfectly viable vehicle that could have easily been returned to service or even donated to a worthy cause; but NO! No, her poor jeep is now scrap=metal because I didn't spend this time and aggravation trying to find a stinking tracker. BTW; those "TILES" are absolute junk, they only work within 20 feet and totally rely on complete strangers (who are running the right app) to just happen to be looking for YOUR lost item! What a joke, I'd laugh if it weren't so darn sad. All I want is piece of mind that if "IF" something were to happen to my pride and joy, maybe just "MAYBE" I could do something...
What do I have to do, put a regular $10 cellphone with a tracking app bound to my phone for this to work, simply, easy and discreetly???
